While YouTube is already the world's largest video consumption platform, there are still hundreds of millions of users coming online for the very first time every year that YouTube can meaningfully impact. This rapidly growing user base provides unique challenges and new opportunities. In the YouTube Emerging Experiences and Community team, our mission is to connect viewers and creators, using communication, sharing, and lightweight content features to enable viewers to directly support and fund creators by purchasing digital goods such as SuperChats, and developing fast growing types of YouTube content such as Shorts and Live. Every day, hundreds of millions of YouTube viewers use community features including Channel Subscriptions, Comments, Notifications, Posts, and Stories.

As a Senior Engineering Director, you will report to the VP of Engineering for Emerging Experiences and Community. You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution, technical vision, and talent development for the organizations building YouTube Comments, Paid Digital Goods, Gaming, and Fan Engagement. Along with Product Managers, UX, and other cross-functional peers, you will set the strategic direction for how we build the best community for YouTube viewers. You and your team will find ways to leverage the unique strengths of Google/YouTube (such as our extensive infrastructure, ads expertise, AI acumen, and our passionate community of viewers), as well as our talented team, to build the most engaging experiences for our users.
