Product Manager, Machine Learning, Trust and Safety

Job Description

The mission of the Trust and Safety team is to keep YouTube's users and the platform safe from those wishing to inflict harm. Within Trust and Safety, the Content Abuse team builds content understanding to protect users and our platform. We work to safeguard videos, live streams, comments, and every aspect of YouTube from content that violates our Community Guidelines (e.g., misinformation and hate speech), coupling machine learning with domain expertise to reduce the risk of users being exposed to violative content at scale.

As a Product Manager at Google, you could be working on new technologies, platforms, consumer facing products, and/or enterprise systems. The end goal will be to match you with the team that best aligns with your interests, experience, and where you will have the most impact.

Resonsibilities:
• Partner with Engineering, Analytics, and Operations to employ machine learning approaches to detect content that violates YouTube's Community Guidelines.
• Identify gaps in our current detection of content violations in YouTube video and images.
• Drive improvements in our key content abuse metrics, exploring, proposing and driving features, labels, or changes in other aspects of the detection chain.
• Work to balance fighting abuse while upholding freedom of expression.
• Drive the overall prioritization, execution, and success of complex projects.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in software development, Computer Science, a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics), or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in product management, setting product direction, driving goals, and executing roadmaps.

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience working with operations or human-in-the-loop products.
• Experience developing machine learning-anchored products.
• Experience with projects that involve sensitive topics, trust and safety, or abuse detection.
