Job Description
YouTube's mission is to give everyone a voice and show them the world. We are an open platform that embraces a wide diversity of perspectives. However, content or behavior that causes egregious user or societal harm or degrades the quality of the YouTube community, does not belong on YouTube. The Trust and Safety team defines and enforces safety standards that maximize the benefits of YouTube's openness and minimize the harm.

In this role, you'll be a technical lead and drive the Trust and Safety technical vision and roadmap. As YouTube continues growing, we need to build out the next-generation of scalable, high performing, and reliable content moderation and anti-abuse systems. If you're passionate about large-scale machine learning and high performing systems, come join us.

At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun - and we do it all together.

Resonsibilities:
• Understand the landscape of content moderation and anti-abuse systems within Google and outside, and ensure YouTube Trust and Safety platform is modern and industry leading.
• Provide technical vision and collaborate with cross-functional teams to set strategic direction from a technical perspective, and design and lead a multi-year technical roadmap.
• Provide domain expertise and engineering insight to guide early designs, accelerate project decision-making, maintain close oversight of technical execution, and proactively adjust course where necessary.
• Provide technical guidance to the team (e.g., review and approve technical designs, guide technical discussions, and project directions).

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience in software development in programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java) to build distributed systems.
• Experience creating a vision for the future.

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience in content moderation.
• Experience in cyber security.
• Experience working with full stack development and full release cycle.
• Experience driving a portfolio of concurrent engineering projects running the gamut from short-term critical feature launches to long-term research initiatives.
• Ability to promote product excellence and collaboration.
• Ability to think in a strategic manner to develop innovative platforms and execute a multi-year roadmap.
