YouTube is a large video consumption platform with more users coming online for the very first time every year. Our rapidly growing user base provides unique challenges and new opportunities. The YouTube Community team's mission is to grow YouTube by connecting people around video, providing communication, sharing, lightweight content features. Every day, YouTube viewers use community features, including channel subscriptions, comments, notifications, posts, and stories.

As the Engineering Director, you will report to the VP of Engineering for YouTube Community. You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of a team based in Los Angeles that is developing notifications, channel subscriptions, and social distribution. Along with Product Managers, UX, and other cross-functional peers, you will set the strategic direction for how we build the best community for YouTube viewers. You and your team will find ways to leverage the strengths of Google/YouTube (e.g., an extensive infrastructure, ads expertise, advanced AI, passionate community of viewers), as well as our talented team, to build the most engaging experiences for our users.
