Director, Engineering, Ads Infrastructure

Job Description

The YouTube Ads team is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our core YouTube Ads Infrastructure platform.

This platform is responsible for efficiently and reliably serving ads for the YouTube Ads business, which continues to grow. The team manages the end-to-end stack for serving ads on YouTube, from client infrastructure to support ads on various platforms (Android, iOS, etc.), to the Ads serving infrastructure, to logging and data-analytics. The system receives high queries per second and supports diverse ads demand sources across all YouTube surfaces.

In this role as the engineering leader, you will not only lead a technical team of engineers, but is also work cross-functionally with leads across Ads and YouTube organizations. You will use your technical judgment and experience to build out the vision, execution strategy, and architecture. Managing and growing a team of technical leaders, you will work in a fast-paced environment where the business needs and the ecosystem are changing. You will create the vision and strategy that accounts for that evolution and build out engineering architectures that will be resilient to changes.
