Job Description

WQRF-TV (FOX) and WTVO-TV (ABC) in Rockford, IL are looking for an entry-level Weekend Producer to join our news team.

The Weekend Producer produces shows on our new weekend news, decides the rundown, writes teases plus other content, times newscast, edits video, and posts videos and stories to the website. Will also work closely with weekday morning show with writing stories, editing video and posting to the website. The weekend newscast is a brand, we are looking for a producer who wants to help push it forward with innovative ideas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platform
• Writes and stacks new stories
• Approves scripts
• Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
• Edits video
• Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
• Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
• High school diploma.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum two years' experience operating video recording equipment.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
• Proficiency with video recording equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
