Job Description
WPRI 12 is looking for a creative writer and editor to join our award-winning Creative Services team as a Promotions Producer. If you have a passion for promotion, can work in a fast-paced, deadline drive environment, and have strong writing, shooting, and editing skills - we want to hear from you!Primary Duties:
• Work with Creative Services Director and Creative Services Team to create, write, produce, and edit on-air promos, topicals and image campaigns.
• Candidate must be able to work independently or as a team
• Must be able to push creative envelope while adhering to brand guidelines
• Shoot promotional spots and maintain department production equipment
• Produce elements for web and social media
• Performs other responsibilities and tasks as assigned
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of on-air promotion experience as a writer/producer/editor for a local station or cable network working in a news environment
• Must have ability to work daytime hours and flexible hours (nights/weekends) when needed
• Passion for strong image and promotional writing
• Knowledge of broadcast and social media platforms
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Stays up to date with local news
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with all departments
• Proven experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop are strongly preferred
• Strong non-linear editing skills
• Working knowledge with camera, audio, and light equipment
• B.S. or B.A. with related experience preferred
• Must be able to provide a reel of work examples – include a web address with your resume and cover letter
• Valid driver's license
