Job summary
Come be part of the creative team at Wondery. Wondery is looking for a Producer to work closely with the Head of Topical Shows. You will play a key role in the enterprising, structuring, writing and managing of non-fiction shows. You'll write and edit scripts, work with talent (from the famous to the unknown), sound designers, and writers from around the country. So who are you? You're experienced in audio storytelling. You have the ability to tell stories in an entertaining, compelling and emotionally engaging way no matter the content, format or length of the story. You're creative and curious and a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. No task is beneath you. And you must be able to take full ownership of shows - so development and writing is a must.

This job is open to Los Angeles and New York City.

Key job responsibilities
• Work closely with Head of Topical shows to pitch and develop new shows
• Develop concept, story structure, and establish the tone and voice of a show
• Provide guidance and organization on new and existing projects
• Manage various show teams and maintain regular communication with hosts, producers, and sound designers
• Edit and provide detailed feedback on scripts and mixes
• Write, write, write

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years experience as a producer/production manager or line producer
• 3+ years experience with budgeting, scheduling and cost reports
• Minimum of 5+ years as a producer/production manager, line producer, showrunner
• Minimum of 5+ years writing and editing scripts
• Enterprise a show soup to nuts (not just produce a single episode)
• Experience working in interview/talk-based podcasts with name talent
• The ability to be creative and source ideas and talent for chat-based podcasts
• Edit scripts - both high level and specific line edits/revisions
• Manage production process including but not limited to: setting the show calendar, help select hosts and direct them on recording sessions, provide written feedback and mix notes to sound designers, work with marketing to help with successful show launch
• Working knowledge of ProTools/Audition or other audio editing software
• Bachelors or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 7+ years producing/writing long form audio, long form magazine, or long form television/film formats
• Experience writing long form narration and writing for the ear
• Experience managing, producing or writing on a daily show and a proven ability to meet fastidious deadlines
• Working and managing hosts and high-end talent
• Proficiency in an audio editing
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Excitement to develop new approaches to storytelling in Wondery's style
• Bachelors required or equivalent experience
