Job summary
Wondery has collaborated with some of the best storytellers in the world. From the Boston Globe's Spotlight Team (Gladiator) to NBC News (Do No Harm) to Bloomberg (The Shrink Next Door). The Miniseries team actively works with newsrooms, journalists, documentarians and others to develop and produce compelling series. The Head of Co-Productions role will oversee these collaborations, working closely with our partners to This includes assisting with reporting, fact-checking, source-building, interview collection, story structure, hosting, and sound design.

This role can be based in Los Angeles, CA and Manhattan or Brooklyn, NY.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead production of compelling, accurate and innovative factual miniseries by clearly communicating the parameters and goals for each project to internal and external team members.
• Own strong relationships with partners around both creative and business conversations with hosts, editors, reporters, documentarians, non-profits, industry groups, schools, incubators and more.
• Plan and execute upon a 3Y strategy for Wondery's Co-Productions.
• Source and develop new stories from existing partners.
• Find and retain new partnerships with targeted outlets who can help deliver new stories or new audiences.
• Work cross functionally with development and marketing teams at Wondery to find and launch new co-productions series
• Manage editorial pipeline and production calendar

A day in the life
You will play a critical role in producing our original co-production miniseries. Working closely with the Head of Miniseries, you will oversee multiple series from initial idea to delivery. You will lead production teams of Associate Producers and Producers on multiple projects at once. You will work closely to share resources between Wondery's internal miniseries team and external outlets to find and develop stories, assemble teams of producers, shape story structure, tone and voice of each series, as well as provide story and sound notes and edits and oversee final delivery.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years experience as a producer/production manager or line producer
• 10+ years experience with budgeting, scheduling and cost reports

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors degree (English, journalism, film studies, theater or related field)
• 5+ years writing or editing longform narrative journalism
• 3+ years experience in screenwriting, playwriting, or documentary film-making
• 2+ years experience producing longform narrative in the audio space
• Skilled in project/time management and proven ability to produce creative work under deadline
• Understanding of three-act structure and how to tell a story through a character's limited POV instead of omniscient narration
• Experience working across narrative genres with a basis in fact – history, science, business, and others
