Job summary
Wondery, now part of Amazon Music, is changing the way people listen to podcasts. Wondery is a premium podcast studio known for character-driven, binge-worthy stories such as Over My Dead Body, Even the Rich, and Business Wars. Many Wondery series have been adapted for television, including Dr. Death, The Shrink Next Door, and WeCrashed. Amazon Music offers a free-to-customer ad-supported listening experience, an ad free premium listening experience for Prime members, and subscribers of Amazon Music Unlimited can listen to a catalog of over 70 million songs in HD, the highest quality streaming audio. We continue to innovate, building a world class audio experience around the world, by making strategic data-driven decisions that start with the customer.

We're looking for a Content Acquisition Manager to join our team in Mexico, with experience in podcast and/or spoken word entertainment, to negotiate Wondery content deals, secure additional rights from existing partners, and help create and execute acquisition strategies in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Chile. The Content Acquisition Manager will be instrumental in ensuring the operational deployment of our podcast strategy in Spanish speaking countries.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of work experience in a content acquisition, licensing, and/or business development role with the ability to manage relationships with media executives from key local content providers.

Key job responsibilities
• Expand our catalogue coverage, identifying, prioritizing, and on-boarding 3P content partners (radios, podcast producers, networks, etc.), working closely with the podcast managers to position Amazon as a natural home for podcasters.
• Achieve positive negotiation outcomes for Amazon and content providers for the production of Original shows in Argentina and Chile, working closely with internal teams including Content, Product, Legal, Finance and Marketing.
• Ensure the good execution of agreements in MX, in support of several teams (Amazon Music app, Podcast creation, advertising)
• Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform Amazon Music's strategic priorities and expansion opportunities.

A day in the life
The content acquisition manager works daily with Wondery's podcast producers and Amazon's podcast managers, securing the best terms for our O&E productions. He coordinates the execution of our agreements with finance, legal and marketing teams, to ensure the best experience to our partners. He is in daily contact with 3rd party content creators, to expand our catalogue coverage and create value for podcasters, hand-in-hand with the local podcast managers.
You will need to listen closely to the market to understand podcasters' needs. You have an entrepreneurial mindset and possess an inclination to roll up your sleeves and solve problems. Doing whatever is needed to get the job done is essential.
