Job Description

Creative Services/Commercial Writer/Producer WJBF-TV, Nexstar's ABC affiliate in Augusta GA is looking for a highly creative, hands-on Commercial Writer/Producer to create next level video-centric on-air and digital marketing elements for our extensive client base. The Commercial Writer/Producer is a key member of the Award-Winning Television Park Creative Services Department and must be ready to hit the ground running by managing projects from initial concept to final production. We are searching for the right individual to continue moving our client production capabilities forward with this incredible opportunity to join our creative team at the Number One Television station in Augusta, GA. • Writes, Produce and Shoots video for commercial and promotional efforts
• Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, filming sequences, desired effects, and shot requirements
• Sets up, composes and executes video shots
• Maintains video equipment
• Organizes and strings together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts or instructions for commercial and promotional efforts
• Reviews assembled footage on screens or monitors to determine whether corrections are necessary
• Trims filmed segments to specified lengths and reassembles segments into sequences that present stories with maximum effect
• Determines the specific audio and visual effects necessary to complete spots
• Sets up and operates computer editing systems, electronic titling systems, video switching equipment, and digital video effects units to produce a final product
• Collaborate with creative team, sales staff and project stakeholders to produce video and digital content that are on brand and drive results
• Selects and combines the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical and smoothly running story
• Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, work product and desired effects
• Maintains editing equipment
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Creative Services Director

Job Responsibilities:
* Write, produce, shoot and edit commercials to tell compelling stories for our clients
* Collaborate with creative team, sales staff and project stakeholders to produce video and digital content that are on brand and drive results
* Manage day-to-day production schedule for multiple projects
* Other duties as assigned by the Creative Services Director

Required Skills:
* Copywriting skills, with the ability to manage a project from start to finish
* Advanced knowledge of the post-production process, including media management and encoding video to various formats (Adobe Premiere & After Effects preferred)
* Proficiency with Canon C100 cinema camera or comparable camera equipment
* Position will require day-to-day multi-tasking, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority
* Must be able to work independently or as part of a team

* College degree in journalism, mass-media communication or related field preferred
