Job Description
WFAA is looking for an energetic and experienced co-host to join our highly successful lifestyle show, Good Morning Texas, weekdays on WFAA. This role will also involve shooting, writing, and editing segments to air inside the program. Segments created in this role will range from entertainment and features to sales-oriented segments and series at the direction of the executive producer.
Responsibilities:
• Works closely with and coordinates assignments with Executive Producer, Senior Producer and segment producers on daily show content and production for on-air, online and social media
• Responsible for developing sources in special areas of interest for GMT.
• Thoroughly prepares, writes, presents scripts and stories which ultimately appear on Good Morning Texas programs via broadcast, online and via social media
• Active on all of GMT's social media platforms with consistent posting of stories, pictures, live streams and more
• Knowledge of local, national and world events as well as other entertainment and news programs.
• Knowledge of Dallas/Fort Worth area from the arts and entertainment to community interest.
• Produce, shoot and edit packages on a weekly basis.
• Attend all show meetings, including pre, post, and planning meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in broadcasting/journalism
• Minimum 3-5 years hosting and/or reporting in a medium to large market.
• Shooting and editing experience required.
• Expertise in using HD cameras, wireless microphones and field lighting.
• Segment producing experience preferred.
• Good writing skills for on-air, and online presentation
• Must have the ability to work under pressure with assigned deadlines.
• Ability to interact productively and positively with fellow employees.
• Good communications skills on and off the air.
• Works Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week. Some flexibility with extended hours
• Travels as required per job assignment.
• Computer skills necessary (windows/PC, newsroom-based software such as ENPS).
• Skilled in non-linear editing
• Valid driver's license
• Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
• Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
• Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
