Job Description
WESH-TV, the Hearst-owned NBC affiliate servicing Orlando and all of Central Florida is looking for a highly-creative Promotion Writer Producer.

This position is responsible for producing topical promotion that will drive viewers to upcoming WESH 2 Newscasts.

Through compelling writing, editing and shooting, candidates will work closely with the news department and identify the most ''promotable'' content and produce an effective marketing message that drives viewers to WESH 2 News using all on-air and social media platforms. The position will also produce promotions for special reports, investigations and proof of performances.

This person will also assist the promotions department in other duties, as assigned. If you can think outside the box and are motivated with a great attitude, then this job could be ideal for you!

Job Responsibilities:
• Write, shoot, produce and edit attention grabbing topical promotion that generate viewer interest to increase ratings and brand awareness.
• Use station's social media and digital platforms to drive viewers engagement.
• Produce promotion for daily topicals, targeted sweep stories, specials and investigations.
• Edit using Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro.
• Shoot using Canon C300/500 and an array of lenses.
• Work closely with news producers, anchors, photographers and managers.
• Deal with the challenges of time-sensitive deadlines without compromising.
• Contribution to brainstorms across all departments.
• In-person attendance is required.

Experience Requirements:
• Media or television station professionals preferred.
• Television Writer/Producer experience preferred.
• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and creative suite,
• Advanced knowledge and nuances of social media platforms

Qualifications Requirements:
• Working knowledge Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of production process including non-linear editing.
• Knowledge in videography and lighting.
• Demonstrated ability to write compelling, conversational copy.
• Work well under extreme deadlines.
• Must be a team player.

• Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience.
• Equivalent military training from Defense Information School (DINFOS) and associated experience will be considered.
