Operations Engineer II, WCPO (Part Time)
Are you ready to power the television experience that connects Greater Cincinnati to vital news and entertainment? WCPO 9 is seeking an Operations Engineer II who will ensure our broadcasts reach viewers with perfect clarity and professional quality. In this role, you'll operate the technical backbone of our television station, controlling equipment that delivers our content to thousands of homes across the Cincinnati region.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Perform floor director and teleprompter duties during live and taped productions
• Monitor and adjust on-air material within the automation system during master control shifts
• Observe, record and operate transmitter power and frequency readings
• Set up and operate satellite and ENG receive equipment for recording programs, commercials and other feeds
• Operate the run Sony ELC automation system for news and other local programming
• Control cameras and maintain proper video levels for broadcasts
• Mix on-air audio for news and other local programming
• Set up and operate IFB systems for talent communication
• Troubleshoot equipment including News Ticker, Crispin Automation, Sony ELC, Chyron, lighting board and audio equipment
• Work weekends, holidays and evening shifts as scheduled
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
• Specialized training/certification may be required
• 2+ years of experience in broadcast television operations preferred
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Working knowledge of Master Control, video servers, scopes and switcher operation
• Understanding of transmitter power parameters
• Strong computer and communication skills
• Ability to maintain composure and accuracy under deadline pressure
• Skills to write IQTs and manage disaster recovery protocols
• Organized and detail-oriented approach to technical operations

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
