WBOY is looking for an IT Broadcast Engineer with strong IT skills to join the team at north central West Virginia's top-rated TV station. We are looking for an IT Broadcast Engineer with strong IT skills who can help maintain technical facilities and be responsible for maintaining the computer networks and equipment in a very busy media environment. The position will entail maintenance of various A/V and IT systems.

Duties:
• Maintain all broadcast technology and equipment for the station
• Provide technical support to end-users as required with a good ''customer service'' attitude.
• Install and test new systems and technical infrastructure for the station
• Installs and maintains the IT network, switches, data backups, workstations, and printers
• Interprets and implements instructions and requests from other station personnel
• Communicates with members of the engineering team and other teams to effectively resolve equipment and system issues
• Minimizes service interruptions at times of equipment and/or system failure by rapidly identifying and implementing solutions
• Support, diagnose, and troubleshoot studio, production, IT and broadcast systems
• Works closely with Chief Engineer to implement new technologies and technical infrastructure for the station

Requirements & Skills:
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours in situations where it is necessary
• Basic understanding of IP LAN/VLAN/WAN/VPN networking setups
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Read and understand system diagrams
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Must be able to kneel, lift, and move up to 50lbs. Must be able to work on ladders and work in confined spaces as required in performing job tasks. Prolonged standing may be required.
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• A good attitude and willingness to learn is essential.
• May perform any other job-related duties as required.

Qualification/Education and/or Experience Requirements:
• Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Three-years experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment preferred
• Experience with Fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems and editing systems
• Experience with digital transmitters, microwave equipment, and other broadcast related equipment a plus
• Experience evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing, and maintaining broadcasting industry equipment and informalization technology systems
