Job Description
WB Games Boston is looking for a Software Engineer to join the team! In this position, you will have a hands-on role maintaining and implementing key game systems and features for an unannounced upcoming title.
What Part You'll Play
• Develop, maintain, and improve systems to support our mobile game client
• Assist with general game development, including, but not limited to: gameplay features, optimization, UI, and bug fixing
• Collaborate with engineers, feature owners, and people across many disciplines like design and art to determine the requirements for new game systems and deliver them in a complete and timely fashion
• Contribute to best practices on software development, game design, features, and tools.
• Participate in code reviews and game reviews, offering constructive feedback that will support a best-in-class title and codebase
What You Bring
• 1+ years of software development experience
• Experience with Unity3D, specifically for mobile game development
• Strong C# programming skills and a practical knowledge of common data structures and software design practices
• The ability to work in a collaborative environment and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members
• The ability to work unsupervised and assist other engineers as needed
• A growth mindset, an attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take feedback
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
• Experience developing gameplay features on a 3D title
• Experience building asynchronous or synchronous multiplayer games
• Experience using or implementing gRPC or RESTful services
• Experience with Git
• Experience developing for iOS (XCode, Objective-C, Swift)
• Experience developing for Android (Gradle, Java)
• Experience with Golang and/or AWS
• Experience playing 4X strategy mobile games
• Familiarity with the Game of Thrones television series and/or series of books
