Job Title: VP, Ad Sync
A little bit about our team:
The synchronization licensing team is directly responsible for connecting our songwriters to creative music users in film, TV, advertising, video games, and merchandising. We look for innovative ways to pair songs with content that influences culture on a global level and enriches the lives of music lovers everywhere. To accomplish this, we work directly with our writers to better understand their goals and ambitions, and we customize our services and marketing approach accordingly. We're always looking for unique and interesting new ways to promote the extraordinary breadth & diversity of our catalogs.
Your role:
• Conduct thorough business analysis using external market research and internal financial/licensing data
• Liaise with A&R and Creative Services teams, songwriters, managers, and estates to develop a thorough understanding of their repertoire and their creative/financial goals
• Understand key brand/ad clients' creative, administrative, and budgetary needs, of our songwriters' goals and business strategy, and how they intersect
• Create a comprehensive Annual Sales strategy with trackable quarterly milestones, and implement in both the Brand Marketing and Advertising sectors
• Cultivate and maintain key relationships with ad agencies, brand marketing executives, and independent creative supervisors in order to create the most meaningful opportunities for our songwriters and songs
• Craft marketing plans for specific focus catalogs as dictated by upper management
• Manage Ad Sales team, set and track OKRs, and create quarterly sales reports for upper management
• Know the Warner Chappell song catalogs as thoroughly as possible and keep current with all new signings, songs, and songwriter marketing plans
• Oversee digital marketing campaigns tailored to the creative needs of our music user clients in advertising, branding, and promotion. Refine and perfect campaigns based on market feedback
• Connect key brand/ad clients with songwriters, management, and estates to deepen the strategic relationship between songs, writers, and branded content
Here you'll get to:
• A minimum of seven (7) years' experience as a business development executive & sales team leader in the advertising/brand sector
• Thorough understanding of, and passion for, all genres and eras of popular music and demonstrable knowledge of the creative intersection of music and advertising
• Demonstrably thorough knowledge of pricing models, terms of use, business practices, rules, and regulations in music licensing for song copyrights and master recordings
• A high degree of self-motivation and responsibility for/ownership of tasks, with the ability to handle high volume of creative project work with accurate and timely execution, plus proven ability to create sales reports, forecasting, and regular presentations to executives
• Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office (or similar) software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and a thorough understanding of digital marketing tools and data (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.)
• Excellent professional communication skills and etiquette, both written and verbal
