A little bit about our team:
The Visual Media Licensing Department works collaboratively to place music in visual media such as film, television, trailers, promos, commercials, video games, mobile apps, merchandise, and webisodes. We license sound recordings from all the Warner Music Group (WMG) labels such as Atlantic Records, Warner Records and Rhino and more.
The Clearance Department is responsible for negotiating the terms and fees of the deal; obtaining consent from all necessary parties, including but not limited to label, artist, or producer; submitting a quote; and obtaining confirmation of a use. We also spend a great deal of time researching recordings, songs and helping music clearance clients and music supervisors gather information.
Upon confirmation of the deals handled by the Clearance Department, the Licensing Administration Department is responsible for finalizing those deals by issuing a license agreement and invoice, and then collecting payment. We work closely with our visual media clients in negotiating boilerplate language in the licenses and close the loop in the licensing process. In addition to licensing, the labels and artists look to us for reporting revenue driven by the Visual Media Licensing Department.
The Creative Department communicates to the sync community (music divisions at networks/studios as well as independent music supervisors) the up-and-coming artists across all of WMG's rosters as well as catalog priorities. We are constantly looking for new ways to develop creative marketing strategies and service new releases for a full range of visual media opportunities.
Here you'll get to:
• Assist with entering master requests into our licensing database
• Prepare requests for contract and invoicing by entering and verifying that all details of the confirmed requests are accurate
• Issue licenses & invoices
• Follow-up on unpaid invoices
• Research recordings and artists
• Update the master rights database
• Create reports upon request
• Clean up and bring individual deal statuses in the licensing database up-to-date
• File fully executed licenses in our database
• Work with a variety of deal types
• Provide support to all team members as needed
• Keep all sensitive information confidential
• Generate playlists for music supervisors as well as for general marketing needs
• Research new productions, identify emerging trends in visual media, and brainstorm ideas for how we can proactively meet that demand
• Listen to new releases and old releases, identifying lyrical themes and other useful qualitative data and create a summary of releases that are well-suited for sync placement
