Job Title: Legal Analyst, Litigation
A little bit about our team:
WMG's corporate Legal Department is located at corporate headquarters in NYC (and also in London) and supports WMG's recorded music labels, music publishing entities and all operating companies and departments in various legal matters, including litigation and claims, digital licensing, content protection, anti-piracy, mergers and acquisitions, securities, compliance and employment.

This position is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the litigations and pre-litigation claims affecting a global entertainment company and its affiliated record labels and music publishing entities. In this role, you will develop a well-rounded experience in supporting in-house attorneys, from responding to third-party subpoenas to collecting evidence and drafting cease-and-desist letters to companies that use WMG's music without a license.
Here you'll get to:
• Be primarily responsible for responding to third-party subpoenas, garnishments, liens and levies, including communications with internal business units, negotiations with opposing counsel, collection and review of responsive documents, drafting response letters, and preparing productions.
• Investigate potential infringements of WMG's intellectual property by digital services, social media platforms, websites, and mobile apps that use WMG content without a license, including conducting target research and due diligence, confirming rights and collecting evidence.
• Draft cease-and-desist letters, litigation document hold notices, and various reporting documents pertaining to litigations affecting the company.
• Assist with case management and discovery obligations.
• Interact with WMG's senior executives and outside counsel, artist and songwriter representatives and music industry trade associations.
About you:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Paralegal and/or law firm experience.
• Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments from multiple people.
• Proficiency with Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel, Google Slides, Meta, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
• Familiarity with copyright registrations and navigating the US Copyright Office's online catalog.
• Ability to conduct yourself in the highest ethical manner and exhibit professional demeanor and sound judgment.
• A passion for music.

• Experience in and/or general knowledge of the music industry and copyright law.

This position requires a minimum of four days per week in the office. We value in-office collaboration and believe it's essential for talent development and fostering strong working relationships.
Salary Range
$35.89 to $38.46 Hourly
Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
