Job Description
Job Title: Full Stack Software Engineer, Deals Office
A little bit about our team:
The Deals Office evaluates and manages high-impact recorded music and music publishing deals. We work directly with senior business leaders to assess opportunities, translate complex data into clear decisions, and build tools that improve speed, rigor, and confidence across the deal lifecycle.
To support this work, we leverage bespoke data products to manage our global deal pipeline and reporting analytics, informing strategic decisions that power the growth of WMG's roster of artists and songwriters.
Your role:
You'll work alongside a senior engineer to build and maintain the data platform, shipping real features to production from day one. This is a hands-on role where you'll learn fast by doing impactful work.
This is an AI-first engineering role. Cursor and Claude Code are core to how we work. You'll use them daily to write, debug, and ship code. If you're already building with AI tools, you'll fit right in.
Here you'll get to:
• Build and refine React components for forms, tables, and dashboards
• Implement UI features based on designs and product requirements
• Write and extend FastAPI endpoints for deal operations
• Write SQL queries for reports, dashboards, and data exports
• Fix bugs, improve performance, and respond to user feedback
• Write tests and maintain code quality
• Learn the codebase by shipping small features, then take on larger projects
• Participate in code reviews and improve your craft through feedback

• Frontend: Next.js, React, Tailwind, Radix UI, TanStack
• Backend: FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLModel, PostgreSQL, Redis

About you:
• Some experience building web applications (internships, bootcamps, personal projects, or 1-2 years professional)
• Familiarity with Python and TypeScript/React
• Basic SQL knowledge
• Experience using AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot)
• Ability to learn quickly and take feedback well
Bonus points:
• Computer science degree or equivalent self-taught foundation
• Projects you can show us (GitHub, deployed apps, side projects)
• Experience with FastAPI, Next.js, or any part of our stack
• Curiosity about the music industry
