A little bit about our team:

WMG's Digital Strategy & Business Development team is responsible for leading the global deal negotiations with digital service providers on behalf of Warner Music Group. We strike deals with global distribution platforms and find new business opportunities in hopes of reaching audiences, growing monetization, and creating value for our labels and artists.

Your role:

In this role, you will support the ongoing efforts to strike global deals across the music streaming landscape by using your analytical skills, and industry knowledge. The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding the intersection of music, technological innovation, and consumer behavior.

Here you'll get to:
• Serve as a central leader within the BD team capable of supporting deal-making with strategic thought and synthesizing raw data into helpful insights and narratives for deal teams and senior management.
• Understand, track, synthesize data we receive from partners and help create regular update presentations, track trends, and lead ad hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and deal-making.
• Experience in publishing data based insights to support a strategic business decision.
• Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to craft engaging and compelling narratives based on data.
• Work with external stakeholders such as DSP partners (e.g., Spotify, Apple, YouTube, Amazon, etc.) to use reporting to understand important trends and support decision-making across the global BD team.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of different segments of our business, leveraging industry data to identify trends and opportunities in the marketplace, with an emphasis on data storytelling.
• Analyze partner data and create models to help inform key decision making.
• Monitor emerging technologies, and media & consumer tech ecosystem trends for the purpose of developing new strategic initiatives.
• Assist in using data & insights to develop long-term strategies focused on WMG's relationship with DSPs and diversification of WMG's revenue and capabilities.

About you:
• 4-6 years of experience in a similar Business Intelligence Analyst and Financial Analyst role in the music publishing or rights management space.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker), and other business intelligence technologies (e.g., Alteryx).
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.
• Proven record working in an analytical capacity, with large data sets to create complex models around deal, partnership, and industry trend forecasting.
• Music, media, or entertainment industry content licensing experience is preferred, as is experience with deal-driven analyses.
• Driven, and inclined to take ownership of all facets of dealmaking, from inception to execution.
• Proven ability supporting deal and project-based teams.
• Strong spreadsheet and presentation skills and high degree of attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude and strong work ethic.

We'd love it if you also had:
• Experience creating and presenting and data & insights in distilled formats.
• Excellent analytical ability, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in building forecast models.
• Experience in related or adjacent fields.

Education Required/Preferred:

Bachelor's degree
or equivalent practical experience in analytics, insights development, or strategy consulting'' with proficiency in Statistics, Operations Research, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

Effective October 1st, this position will require being in the office 4 days a week. We believe that an in-office presence is critical for talent development, collaboration and building strong relationships.

Salary Range
$130,000 to $150,000 Annually

Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
