The Job

The CW Television Network is seeking a Vice President of Scripted Development to join our team and participate in all aspects of the development process for both one-hour comedies and dramas. This role leverages current relationships and liaises with studio partners, agents, managers, and producers to take pitches and evaluate story materials submitted for development and staffing.

The Daily
• Liaison with studio partners, agents, managers, and producers to identify prospective comedy and drama projects for The CW's primetime programming slate.
• Take pitches from outside producers and writers; review and discuss all submitted material for development; follow up and respond to solicited materials.
• Read and evaluate a large volume of writers for development and staffing.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external partners on development projects throughout the casting, pre-production, production, and post-production processes.
• Travel domestically and internationally for meetings and production shoots as required.

The Essentials
• 5 years prior scripted development experience within entertainment working at an agency, studio, network, or production company.
• Bachelor's degree or above is preferred; concentration or focus on Film and/or television is a plus.
• Technically savvy with proficiency in MS Office including Word, Teams, Final Draft.
• The ability to communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels of staff is essential.
• Experience reading a high volume of scripts and other pitch materials with a high degree of detail and analysis.
• A high level of organization and time management are required to successfully operate within this fast-paced environment with simultaneous time constraints.
• The ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain flexible working hours, including overtime, if and when necessary, is critical.
• Must be a proactive problem-solver who can reason through issues and find positive outcomes.
• Must be able to operate discretely and manage highly confidential information.
