The Job:

Warner Bros. is one of the world's largest distributors of feature films, television programs, and animated content. The Marketing Operations group within the Worldwide Television Marketing division supports a host of technology vital to business functionality. The System Ops Engineer (Project Hire) is responsible for server maintenance, installation, upgrades, and optimization of systems both for hardware and software. Including servers and network devices for the Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing (WWTVM) team. The System Ops Engineer (Project Hire) automates delivery and media workflows to improve systems, and processing of media. The Systems Engineer will also provide trouble shooting support for the team in the event of system failures. This position is responsible for charting inefficiencies and tracking the overall improvements and progress of the group.

The ideal candidate for this this role possesses strong technical skills with both post-production and general office technology. Perhaps more important is possessing the clear head and people skills needed to calmly walk in and assess a situation while dealing with a seemingly endless degree of variables. Possessing a great attitude amidst such variant situations is key to presenting our team as a source of solutions and authority in improving overall user experience.

Furthermore, this person should possess strong verbal and written skills in relaying issues back to upper management within the Sys Ops group so that proper courses of action can be determined.

The Daily:
• Manages and monitors status of systems, databases, and infrastructure, intervening immediately before problems escalate.
• Organizes and Maintains storage platforms.
• Implements necessary software updates and upgrades to the digital media system software environment as needed.
• Supports and troubleshoots technical issues for the TV Marketing team
• Performs other related duties as assigned

The Essentials:

Work Experience
• 1-3 years post production facility operation/support

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
• BA/BS degree in Systems Engineering, Media Production, or equivalent practical experience

Knowledge/Skills
• Aspera: Faspex, P2P, Console, and Enterprise Server
• Avid Media Composer & Avid Interplay
• Encoders: Telestream Vantage
• Strong knowledge in systems support, both Mac and Windows
• Expert understanding of Avid workstation support and workflows
• Knowledge of media management for both on disk and archived assets
• Up to date knowledge of media deliverables and transcoding profiles
• Technical resource management of licensed software and available hardware including Adobe Creative Cloud and floating license manager solutions
• Some light demands for wiring and setting up workstations in sometimes difficult to access environments.

• General office activities including sitting, walking, filing, etc.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. of equipment at a given time.
