The Automation Software Engineer will help us stay at the forefront of first party data and data privacy efforts at WarnerMedia and take us to the next level.

The Team

The Consumer Data Platform Team is responsible for building scalable solutions that enable Warner Media brands such as HBO, CNN, Team Coco, Warner Bros., and more, to keep their applications compliant with data privacy laws such as CCPA and GDPR. In addition, the team is responsible for building first party data solutions that give Warner Media and our customers better control over data we collect within our apps.

The Job

The Automation Software Engineer is a major contributor to the success of WarnerMedia initiatives on the Consumer Data Platform team. This role is heavily focused on ensuring the team complies with quality work and testing focused on automation where applicable. As an Automation Software Engineer, you will work with a team of software engineers through the architecture, design, implementation, and operation phases of applications within the Cloud Platforms team.  

• Participate in software development projects using an Agile process and tools
• Writing meaningful automation and manual tests that exercises the core functionalities of the system to ensure the team can release high quality software.
• Providing consistency across work breakdown and estimation so that the team can maintain a sustainable pace of development while also allowing for good forecasting.
• Lending guidance towards software testing best practices, such as fully automated testing and CI/CD, hands-on experience with creating and configuring build pipelines.
• Work other engineers to build great software
• Translate software product configuration, build, validation, and integration requirements into robust CI/CD processes
• Create modern, fault-tolerant, automated data pipelines

Qualifications & Qualities:
• Senior-level experience as an Automation Engineer
• RESTful architectures
• CI/CD, build pipelines (jenkins, bamboo, circleci, etc…)
• Cloud based services, such as AWS, GCP, etc...
• Issue tracking software such as JIRA
• Self-starter, knows how to work around dead ends, can pick something up on the fly
• Always open for a discussion/debate and seeking consensus
• Passion for tech innovation or contributing to open source projects
• Experience with Analytics instrumentation & SDKs a plus

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Drive to create programmatic automation
• Eager to learn new technologies
