Sr Application Developer

OVERVIEW

The Senior COBOL Developer will provide operational support, validation, and reconciliation of data files received between HR & payroll systems and external benefit and compensation vendors (Fidelity 401K, Stock, other savings, Alight health & Welfare).

The Developer will design, build, and tests critical enhancements to the system. Critical, single resource with expertise in supporting the system.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Daily operational support, validation, reconciliation, error handling, error correction, rerunning for files sent to or received by the HRDC COBOL system.
• Designs, develops, and tests changes and enhancements to COBOL, JCL, REXX programs required to operate HRDC
• Coordination across technical teams to run files, validated files, coordinate execution of ad-hoc processes and cut over processes.
• Attend requirement, design, development and other general meetings required to support the SDLC of HRDC and the HRDC retirement project

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
• 12 years development experience with COBOL, REXX, JCL and Oracle Query Language.
• 12 years' experience with Microfocus Development and deployment on production environments
• 12 years' experience working on complex mainframe systems in the benefits area.
• 12 years' experience working with Fidelity Platforms (401k, Savings, Pensions, Equity, and other deferred compensation plans)
• 12 years' experience working on mainframe integrations for health and welfare integrations with providers like Alight

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree, ideally in computer science
