Sr. Analyst, Direct-to-Consumer, Podcasting Strategy & Operations

The Team

Partnering with executive leadership and operating areas, the WarnerMedia Direct-to-Consumer Strategy team facilitates and supports strategic / operational planning. As part of the larger Direct-to-Consumer organization, the team executes on detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis to further the strategic priorities of our direct-to-consumer platform, HBO Max.

The Job

We are looking for an Sr. Analyst, based in New York, who will provide strategic and analytic support on various projects covering direct-to-consumer and HBO Max Podcasting initiatives. Reporting to the Director of HBO Max Podcasting Strategy and Operations, this Sr. Analyst will work on projects for the HBO Max and the Direct-to-Consumer organization. These projects include HBO Max podcasting strategic analyses, performance and measurement evaluations, podcast mix assessments, partnerships and budgeting, planning, and deliverables for senior management. This role requires a high level of collaboration with partners in various business units across WarnerMedia.

The Daily
• Provide analytical support on podcasting initiatives to achieve the strategic goals of HBO Max and the Direct-to-Consumer business
• Create executive-ready presentations to summarize key findings, recommendations, and evaluations of strategic opportunities
• Partner with business intelligence team and lead the development of new KPI dashboards and reports that track and communicate outcomes and provide recommendations
• Identify new opportunities for testing and learning via data insights and analyses
• Support HBO Max podcasting operations through development of long-term planning, strategic analysis, budgeting, databases and tracking files, partnerships, etc.
• Research, track, and analyze competitive trends and communicate insights to DTC management
• Maintain advanced knowledge of media and entertainment industry and consumer trends
• Collaborate with internal partners such as Content, Marketing, Research, Finance, Legal and Business Affairs, Communications, Growth, Product, Technology, Ad Sales, and Distribution in support of initiatives
• Provide support for both WarnerMedia and DTC senior management, including strategy reviews, board presentations, and other management-level deliverables

The Essentials
• Bachelor's Degree or higher required
• At least 3-4 years of work experience that includes one or a combination of the following:
• Management Consulting within the Media, Tech, or Telecom practice
• Investment Banking within the Media, Tech, or Telecom practice
• Corporate development, strategy or business analytics at a media or tech company
• Mastery of Excel: Exceptional quantitative analytic and modeling skills, with a sound understanding of finance
• Mastery of PowerPoint: A keen eye for presentation design and the ability to distill complex concepts and analyses into clear, easy-to-understand presentations
• Experience developing dashboards and reports
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with several deliverables under tight deadlines
• Passionate about media and entertainment with a voracious appetite for industry news (e.g. content, streaming services, podcasting and audio trends)
• Experience interfacing and presenting to senior executives and management teams
• High level of integrity, strong work ethic, deep intellectual curiosity, and out-of-the-box thinking
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative DNA
• Ability to thrive and take initiative in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
