Sr. Accountant (Temporary)

This is a Temporary Role (1 year)

The Job

As part of our team, you will join an agile group working within a very fast paced and challenging business environment; overseen Domestic, EMEA, APAC and LATAM balance sheet reconciliations. Beyond your operational responsibilities, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership to permanently enhance our processes looking for efficiency, as well as providing a high level of support to our Business Partners.

You will be responsible for preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annually reconciliations ensuring that our balance sheet accounts have been reconciled in accordance with WBD policies and procedures.

The Daily:
• To support supervisor in analysis of assigned accounts and to prepare different reports and Ad hoc requests.
• Work with business teams in researching and identifying discrepancies in a timely manner to avoid or mitigate gain/loss.
• Responsible for preparation of the reconciliations under scope and the working papers prepared by Semi Sr or Jr. Analysts ensuring quality and financial accuracy.
• Manage complex closing processes, preparing, documenting entries, and preparing related balance sheet accounts reconciliations
• Perform and review and post adjusting Journal Entries: Cash and Treasury related accounting, Payroll, T&E, Accruals, Prepaids, inter-company; Equity; Marketing and Revenue accounts
• Document significant processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to allow for cross training and to display the necessary level of understanding of same.
• Subject matter expert for People Soft/Oracle/SAP/Certification issues
• Support the training and development of the SSr and Jr analysts.
• Analyze processes and identify areas for improvement/efficiency/automation.
• Maintain procedures as per SOX defined controls
• Assist the team on external and internal auditors preparing and providing required documentation and explanation.
• Provide support on UAT, operation enhancement projects, and other ad hoc requests as required

The Essentials:
• Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting
• +4 years of accounting experience
• Experience in media industry, Big Four firms or multinational companies
• Above average skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel advance user is mandatory)
• Above average skills in proactivity and accountability
• Ability to adapt to dynamic and uncertain environments
• Fluent in English

The Nice to Haves:
• General knowledge of People Soft or other ERP systems.
• General knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience in Shared Business Services
• Experience in Knowledge Transfer processes
