Warner Media is seeking a highly motivated video-focused Solutions Architect to evolve our end-to-end technology platform for video sourcing, encoding, and delivery across our Warner Media brands and content partners. This is a multi-disciplined, cross-functional role to shape and deliver our integrated products ecosystem and workflows across in-house and third-party solutions for live streaming and video on demand consumption.

The Solutions Architect will own the technical implementation architectures for video ingest, encoding, transcoding, captioning, network delivery, and event orchestration for a unified video delivery platform. You will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to build comprehensive cloud-based integrations across multiple products and services, with the goals of workflow simplicity, operational efficiency, and future-ready innovation as key priorities.

You will champion the optimal solution design approaches for video platform applications, backend services for shared functionality, and cloud/on-prem infrastructure decisions for video processing. You will work closely with technical product managers, developers, project managers, QA testers, and brand technical leads to envision end-to-end cross-system workflows, define requirements, and influence implementation approaches for development and operational support.

The Daily
• Define and evolve our technical architecture direction for video delivery workflows supporting our WarnerMedia brands and multiple device platforms. Champion philosophy and approach for best-in-class architectures with buy-in from engineering teams and brand partners.
• Create technical architecture artifacts and solution/application requirements that cover cross-system workflows, video delivery needs, dependencies, and operational capabilities.
• Contribute to technical video roadmaps, focusing on workflow evolution, end-to-end operational efficiency, and new back-end/front-end application enhancements.
• Research industry trends and cloud software offerings to drive innovation for our platform and application architecture direction. Track industry practices for encoding practices, video quality specs, cloud services updates, dynamic ad insertion, quality metrics, and video players.
• Maintain an understanding of Warner Media brand utilization of various features and elements of the full video stack. Collaborate with brands to identify new needs and gaps.
• Collaborate with developers/engineers on code framework and integration decisions to ensure product stability, reliability, and failover scenarios for broader integrations.
• Coordinate integration activities across internal teams and brands for product delivery. Collaborate with brand product teams on technical plans, risks, and support for video needs.
• Participate in integration testing, user acceptance testing, and technical product validation.
• Collaborate with Platform Operations team to cross-train on full systems integration, workflow scenarios, and remediation needs for day-to-day production stability.

The Essentials
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience
• 5+ years experience in the engineering domain as a Solutions Architect, Application Architect, Developer, Chief Engineer, Lead Developer, or similar technical lead role
• 5+ years with large-scale technical integrations for highly-available, highly-scalable cloud stacks serving high-traffic consumer experiences for video and news consumption
• Strong ability to articulate complex system workflows through artifacts – visual diagrams, component breakdowns, technical specs, sequence flows, and failover/recovery plans
• 5+ years experience writing technical requirements and leading technical solution sessions
• Expertise in full digital video stack – video players, encoding (HLS, CMAF), packaging, CDN delivery, DRM solutions, and AWS cloud services (MediaLive, MediaConvert, MediaPackage)
• Strong knowledge of ad insertion (DAI/SSAI/CSAI), SCTE-35 protocol, and VAST/VPAID standards
• Expertise and hands-on experience with designing, implementing, and deploying AWS cloud solutions that support high availability, cost efficiency, and disaster recovery
• Takes full ownership of architecture strategy, vision, and tactical implementation needs
• Can work in a dynamic, nimble environment which can pivot rapidly per changing needs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
