The Job
** This role is third shift (8 PM - 6 AM) on a rotating schedule, weekends will be required at times**
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Sr Coordinators and Coordinators in a high-pressure environment providing monitoring and Master Control services to execute brand strategy for multiple brand clients. The Shift Supervisor is our first layer of leadership on the front lines of the operation managing the assignment of roles, delegating tasks, and executing client requests. For all brands served in Content Origination, the Shift Supervisor is an SME on their daily processes making key day-to-day business decisions that align with each brand's strategy. The Shift Supervisor manages communication to Senior Leadership particularly in regards to On-Air Disruptions. The Shift Supervisor will lead their team of Sr Coordinators and Coordinators and meet with them regularly to provide feedback, create developmental and training opportunities, and deliver an annual performance evaluation. The Shift Supervisor must demonstrate a service-oriented approach to leadership and put the needs of others first helping people develop and perform as highly as possible. They must also collaborate with fellow leaders to create an environment that encourages diversity, recognizes creativity, and rewards initiative particularly around new ideas.

The Daily

Supervise Content Origination staff
• Fulfill role of Operations Communication Center (OCC) Supervisor acting as the central point of contact for Content Origination.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and set positive examples for staff members
• Ability to provide leadership and direction to employees who may not report directly to you
• Manage interview and selection processes to fill Coordinator and Sr Coordinator openings
• Work cohesively with Content Ops, BEST Engineering, Content Administration and Sales Operations to execute Brand strategy and resolve problems
• Working with Content Origination managers and Human Resources, provide staff coaching and progressive discipline when applicable
• Develop new workflow processes and procedures and refine existing ones as business and operational needs necessitate
• Identify and oversee training initiatives for your team
• Communicate with Network clients and partners to resolve any issues identified
• Provide team with workflow updates and solicit their feedback on future areas for improvement
• Manage disaster recovery efforts and external communition to Senior Leadership
• Ensure completion of daily tasks and communicate status in daily shift reports
• Prepare performance evaluations, writing and participating in yearly reviews
• Manage staffing needs to include attendance issues, resolve UTO calls

Perform the following Operational duties
• Proficiency with the nuances of all brands within Content Origination which includes equipment, workflows, and procedures including KIDVID rules, High Profile and Live Event requirements, and network notifications
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of all SOP's and familiarity with company policy Serve as the leader on shift providing support and guidance for team members
• Encourage innovation by involving team in problem solving and workflow development
• Lead team in disaster recovery efforts as needed, providing direction to staff, gathering information and effectively communicating details about incidents, and facilitating follow-up coaching to operators
• Maintain expertise with all roles within the operation performed by Coordinators
• Serve as a point of contact for stakeholders
• Interface with NATO leadership, BEST Engineering and Network Points of Contact
• Support Live Event Associate Directors during live events

Complete reports and/or tickets and communicate updates and status to stakeholders
• Resolve all tickets regarding issues with equipment, schedules, media, or on-air disruptions
• Complete daily Shift Report providing documentation on that day's activities
• Communicate effectively with the incoming shift to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
• Produce timely email notifications for On-Air Disruptions and notify management
• Facilitate staff feedback upwards to management team

The Essentials
• Minimum 3 yr. experience in a Broadcast Ops or similar media environment
• Windows and other business related software
• Broadcast Automation, Switchers, Graphic Devices, Media Storage, and other broadcast technology
• Minimum 2 years experience shift leading & supervising people

Required Education
• Accredited Broadcast – technical School Degree (minimum)
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (minimum)

Desirable/Preferred:
• Automation and/or software playlist experience desired
• Ability to communicate effectively, work under stress and perform as part of a team
• Experience coaching and developing people
• Experience managing personnel, projects and deliverables in a matrixed environment
• Some College Experience – emphasis in Communications, Broadcasting or Technology
