The Senior Tax Manager manages the local corporate tax filings of business units in North Asia Pacific(''the region''), liaises with the local Tax Authorities in connection with such issues; is responsible for directing the incoming correspondence from various Tax Authorities to the appropriate parties and various filing and administrative matters; prepares the internal US tax reporting documents for business units in the region; and coordinates with WBD's US tax group on matters that arise in the region which impact WBD's US tax position. The Senior Tax Manager reports to the Tax Director, Asia Pacific in advising and assisting WBD's Asia Pacific financial controllers, business and legal teams on tax issues arising from cross border business transactions in the region.

Tax planning and advisory
• Assessing regional tax structure, identifying tax savings opportunities, and mitigating risks;
• Maximizing tax efficiency in local countries with use of appropriate transfer pricing, tax positions and/or tax incentives consistent with global priorities;
• Implementation of tax-efficient operating models for new business lines proposed by the business, tax advisory, M&A and internal reorganizations and ensuring careful implementation including assisting entity set-up and winding-up, assessing the relevant local tax requirements and exposures, coordinating transfer pricing implementation, etc.;
• Staying abreast and communicating new operations or changes in existing operations to ensure proper structure, governance and transfer pricing are in place;
• Managing positions associated with cross-border payments such as dividends, interest from financing structures, royalties etc., and withholding tax management;
• Managing day to day tax queries from Business, Legal, GBS, Controllership, Content Accounting and similar teams; and
• Monitoring and advising on legislative and regulatory changes in North APAC and the media industry.

US tax reporting
• Quarterly tax provisions, deferred taxes, tax account reconciliations, and maintenance of Master Issues List;
• Identifying and documentation of tax reserves including preparing technical memos; files to document tax return positions and audit support;
• SOX, blackline, internal audit and other controllership requirements; and Cash tax management and reporting/forecasting.

Tax compliance
• Partnering with the accounting team on all tax aspects of local statutory filings and financial audits;
• Participating in the quarterly and year end audit and documentation required; and
• Managing tax compliance for operations in North APAC including income tax filings, indirect tax filings, transfer pricing documentation and CbCR notifications.

Tax audit and litigation support
• Leading local tax audits including income tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, or other relevant tax inspections.

Tax administration
• Managing and liaising with external tax advisors including responsibility for overseeing the engagement letter, budgeting, and forecasting fees;
• Driving due dates and deliverables on both government deadlines and those needed by the US Tax teams; and
• Other tax administration matters.

Job Requirements/Skills:
• Degree or equivalent experience in accounting or law
• Other: CPA, ACA or ACCA qualification
• Experience in Asia Pacific regional tax, preferably in Big 4 accounting firms and/or large (preferably US-based) multi-national corporations
• Fluent in English and Chinese verbal and written communication skills
• Above average skills in numerical and organizational skills
• Years of experience: 10-12 years
• Broad knowledge and experience in developing excellent business relationships with a wide variety of talented people across cultures, countries and time zones
