Senior Business Analyst Executive (Warner Media)

OVERALL SUMMARY

As a Strategy Planning Senior Analyst, you will operate in a global environment to help drive strategic initiatives that focus on key areas of WarnerMedia's global Technology and Operations organization. The Senior Analyst, Strategic Planning role in the Office of Strategic Management team (OSM) sits within the Technology Strategy and Business Operations organization (TSBO). The OSM team is primarily responsible for Technology Strategy, Enterprise Program Management, Audit Management, Technology Standards, and Patent Management across all WarnerMedia Technology. Reporting to the Director of OSM, the Senior Analyst will have extensive interaction with key stakeholders across various functional lines of management including but not limited to senior executives across WarnerMedia Technology and Operations from Direct to Consumer & Digital Platforms (HBO Max, CNN, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, TNT, TBS, WB, etc.), Data Strategy, Science & Platforms, Production Engineering, Content Technology & Operations, Ad Technology to Infrastructure and Workplace Tech.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
PLANNING/STRATEGY 40%. Strategy Planning Senior Analyst will assume a central role in the Technology strategy process to ensure that OSM deliverables are providing maximum value to stakeholders.
• Contribute to the strategic planning process and support the development and refinement of global strategies and plans for WarnerMedia's Tech and Operations initiatives
• Lead end-to-end strategic projects (planning, design, hands-on development, stakeholder management, communication, and maintenance)
• Accurately and clearly articulate strategic issues and provide relevant, logical options for solving them
• Identify the pros and cons for tactical recommendations and translate potential economic or business impact for each option
• Perform competitive and industry analysis for WarnerMedia Tech and Operations businesses to provide relevant insights and actionable recommendations to support business strategy
• Collaborate with stakeholders on cross-service opportunities through opportunity assessment and financial modeling
• Create comprehensive and meaningful strategy presentations for senior executives
• Assist in developing and executing a methodology to evaluate, prioritize and monitor strategic initiatives focused on achieving corporate goals
• Ability to build a framework and drive development through dynamic business intelligence tools and dashboards for use in ongoing business planning and goal measurement through KPIs

ANALYTICS 40%. Strategy Planning Senior Analyst will assume a lead role in contributing to quarterly reporting and financial/strategic analysis related to major initiatives throughout WarnerMedia Technology and Operations Organization.
• Develop reporting decks for regular meetings with business leadership
• Perform business case rationalization (ROI analysis, build vs buy, strategic vendor analysis)
• Identify Technology projects that require financial and/or strategic analysis; Proactively seek out opportunities to assist business stakeholders
• Drive the planning, design, and implementation of OSM pilot initiatives.
• Develop comprehensive performance analysis of Business Operations putting in place data models and analytics that provide platform for strategic decision-making
• Identify opportunities for improvement and measure the impact
• Actively participate in stakeholder meetings with the goal of understanding all major projects and initiatives planned; and the resulting tactical plans required to execute strategic goals
OPERATIONS 20%. Strategy Planning Senior Analyst will contribute to recurring operational tasks and ad-hoc projects as needed.
• Assist as needed with developing workflows and operational initiatives including project prioritization
• Work with leadership team to implement tracking and reporting of operations metrics across the Technology business organizations.
• Contribute to other projects as directed by supervisor
• Project management with ability to prioritize multiple efforts and adjust workload accordingly
• Collaborate with Tech Strategy and Business Operations colleagues to identify ways to streamline and add value to business processes

QUALIFICATIONS
• BS/BA degree required
• 5+ years of prior experience in a related field (media, entertainment, business development or streaming services industry experience a plus)
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience developing financial models in Excel AND facilitating business discussions
• Expert user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to prepare all documents, presentations, graphs, briefings, and worksheets
• A passion for accuracy and translating insights into a compelling narrative; able to maintain a balance between the details and the larger picture
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Superb relationship building skills
• Work collaboratively w/small teams
• Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently

PREFERRED
• MBA
• 1+ years of post-MBA experience in a related field (entertainment or entertainment)
• Knowledge of and passion for media, entertainment, and technology industries (including key players, growth trends and drivers, new media models, industry structure, etc.)
• Familiarity with streaming and similar products/services
• Experience working in a national or global company
• Some visualization tool knowledge would be helpful (i.e. Tableau, Power BI)
• Comfortable in working in highly iterative and somewhat unstructured environment
