Principal Business Systems Analyst

Job Description

As part of the Cloud Architecture team, this position is responsible for ongoing cloud optimization and governance, including building a framework for future cost avoidance. Our successful cloud platform deployments are growing quickly - this position will play a key role in managing and controlling cost, budget, usage, asset, configuration, performance & security.

Job Experience
• 5+ years business analysis or product management experience
• Outstanding technical and non-technical communication skills
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) not required but a huge plus
• Experience with budgeting, cost models, forecasting and policy definition
• Passion for learning new technologies and methods and helping others learn
• Ability to clearly define problems and work with others to propose effective solutions
• Experience managing projects - timelines, milestones, budgets, progress/status
• Experience with the usual MS Office suspects or similar tools
• Experience with RESTful Web APIs, json and other web stuff a plus

Day to Day responsibilities:

The Principal Business Systems Analyst will work across WarnerMedia with our cloud architects, business partners, security office, legal team, development teams, operations teams and management to further our goals for cost control, governance and optimization of cloud activities:
• Define and implement cloud governance and optimization goals
• Evangelizing and on-boarding across development teams
• Track progress
• Implement data integrations 

• Cost, budget, usage, asset, configuration, performance, event logs & security
• Help with policy definition and implementation
• Cost, budget, usage, asset, configuration, performance & security
• Perform analysis, recommendations & optimization actions
• Cost & asset allocation, rightsizing, RI purchases/SP Purchases & modifications, & zombie infrastructure
• Perform capacity planning, modeling & forecasting
• Create report definitions and implement delivery
• Implement service level reporting
