Manager - Lead Scientist - Neurotechnology

Job Description

THE JOB:
Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Manager – Lead Scientist for the Neurotechnology team. The Business/Products Owner will be responsible for overseeing the testing process for users of a ML based Neurotechnology platform for audio/visual content. The position will also help maintain key business relationships with several business units throughout the Warner Brothers organization.

THE DAILY:
Hardware R&D/Vetting/Onboarding
We have an ongoing need to vet and acquire new hardware that collects physiological data from our audiences. These devices need to be integrated with our platforms and be utilized in various situations. The role will be responsible for developing and growing a database and library of detailed documentation of potential devices to be utilized. This position will be responsible for generating hardware usage specifications and other requirements to effectively utilize new devices. We would prefer to have a candidate who has experience designing/building hardware.

Software R&D/Vetting/Onboarding
Our platforms are integrated with various 3rd party technologies that require POCs, Data Analysis, and ongoing support. This candidate must be able perform qualitative assessments between various 3rd party SDKs/Libraries, document results, and provide clear guidance to the team on their findings. This position will be responsible for generating usage specifications and other requirements to effectively utilize new software.

Science Leadership
This individual will become the trusted scientific point of contact for internal team and external stakeholders/users. This individual will build and maintain trust with all parties. This individual will be able to explain highly complex technical concepts to various technical and non-technical individuals. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and growing a library of documentation that articulates clear methods for scientific conclusions and decisions. This individual will seek out 3rd party opinions and guidance when necessary.

Data Quality
This individual is responsible for the quality of the data that is output from our various platforms. This role will be responsible for making sure that all platform data is useful to the business. This person provides oversight to the data scientist in performing data cleansing, validation, anomaly detection, and data analysis.

Data Reporting/Visualization
This role is responsible for establishing technical requirements that will enable the engineering and UI/UX teams to build out reporting tools and visuals that are technically correct and visually useful to users. In some cases, reports will need to be manually designed/built to socialize new concepts with teammates.

Focus Group Design/Moderation
This role is responsible for designing pilot focus group studies with the goal of vetting/testing new concepts and improving existing technologies. This individual will occasionally be asked to partner with co-workers to facilitate additional focus group studies.

Work Experience
• 10+ years of experience oversight of technology research and strategy in the consumer electronics, optics, biometrical, or wearable industry.
• 10+ years experience designing and manufacturing electronic devices
• 5+ years experience as a lead scientist in a corporate environment
• 10+ years or experience working with a software engineering team.
• 5+ years of biometric data processing

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field required
• Master's degree preferred but not required
