Job Description
Delivering first-in-class content in the best and most engaging ways possible while equipping our people to do so requires an incredible amount of talent… and technology. The technology and operations group covers things like the company's data strategy, content delivery systems, master control operations, broadcast engineering, advertising technology, and the technology platform for HBO Max, while also supporting the everyday underpinnings of our company. Join our community of extraordinary team members who are truly building the tools that will run the future of entertainment.

Who we are:

We are a DevOps division at Warner Media working to build the next generation of video-enabled entertainment brands.

About this role:

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team. Our DevOps engineers manage and monitor all aspects of our platform infrastructure. We are responsible for software deployments, infrastructure-as-code management, third-party service providers, and AWS system maintenance and configuration. We are entrusted with our deployment pipelines, AWS infrastructure and the overall security of the systems we manage.

As a DevOps Engineer focused on video streaming and direct to consumer entertainment, you will work remotely with many different teams across all platforms, including backend, design, mobile, product, and more. You will focus on supporting cutting-edge video features such as live metadata sync, premium user account management, synchronized video across multiple clients, and backend stacks that support video and content delivery.

What will you do?
• Maintain production and non-production systems in AWS.
• Tackle software and architecture projects involving CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, monitoring tools such as DataDog and Docker orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, EKS and ECS.
• Support the development teams in managing GitHub, AWS accounts and communication tools.
• Work on application pipelines using continuous integration.
• Support and scale our metrics/logging/alerting stack and tools.
• Work alongside a diverse group of teams to provide support and knowledge.

What do we require from you?
• Experience using and maintaining Linux systems.
• Experience with some of: AWS, Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, Python, video transcoding systems, and Chef.
• Expertise in modern DevOps techniques – We excel in configuration management and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with at least one or more programming or scripting language, including bash, Python, Go, NodeJS and Java.
• The ability to often work asynchronously, autonomously, and to follow through when working independently.
• Bachelor's Degree

Bonus points if...
• Experience in Security and/or DevSecOps
• Experience with writing Terraform modules.

The following are some of the tools we use regularly. We do not expect you to have a mastery of everything in this list, but expert knowledge with a few and familiarity with the others (or a close analog) is ideal.
• AWS (in general)
• Python
• Jenkins
• Terraform
• Linux and Docker container orchestration (ECS or Kubernetes)
• ElasticSearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK)
• Github
• Docker
• Chef
• SQL
