Freelance Graphic Artist

Position Description:
• Concept, design and produce still and animated graphics and other design elements as assigned by Design Directors
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Work on a variety of projects from HLN Originals, Morning Express, sponsorships and daily requests
• Preferable to have ability to work in various creative disciplines: illustration, physical prop making, costuming, visual merchandising, set design, set dressing, shot blocking, photo and video shoot support, creative writing etc.
• Ability to problem solve, shift tones/genres and tackle novel assignments. Genres include news, crime documentaries, political coverage, commercials for sponsorship/products, lighthearted segments that often employ comedic situations.
• Ensure design standards and brand guidelines are followed appropriately by using good judgment and leveraging Design Directors for council as needed
• Work effectively as a member of the production team. Meet regularly with Design Directors, Assistant Art Directors, Sr Production Designers to coordinate production of design elements as needed.
• Effectively manage time and resources to deliver projects and collateral assets on time and in working order
• Will work with Design Directors, co-workers and show production staff to determine needs and facilitate execution of projects.
• Will acquire and utilize knowledge of equipment operation, production techniques and engineering requirements.

Qualifications/Experience:
• Must be located in the ATL area [note: this role will be in-person once offices re-open]
• Requires creativity, organization, maturity and ability to meet specific deadlines under stressful production conditions.
• television or equivalent work experience (a plus)
• Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Cinema4D (a plus) Plugins: RedGiant, Boris FX, Sapphire, AE Expression,
• Prop making, crafting, physical design and display design (a plus)
• Must have ability to work with and take direction from others.
• Must have ability to work varied hours as required to produce finished products.
• Must have the ability to travel to and work on location shoots.
