Design Project Manager, Courageous Studios (Temporary)

WarnerMedia's Brand Studio, Courageous Studios, leads the production of cross-platform branded content for advertisers of CNN, HLN, and CNN Business. Courageous is a world-class production department based in New York City. It is a highly successful business that experienced exponential growth with output of over 500 short and long-form films, multiple high-scale experiential/event executions (a fast-growing area) and numerous other digital assets such as interactives, quizzes, photo essays, infographics, podcasts, and more.

The Design Project Manager at Courageous will join a thriving operation, liaising with many individuals and teams within the WarnerMedia Ad Sales organization, including sales and marketing, as well as a Who's Who of blue-chip brand clients and agency partners. Courageous produces bold and relevant work of real interest to the CNN audience; a network available to more than 2 billion people in more than 200 countries and territories, spanning TV, Web, OTT, Social Media, Airports and Mobile and Smart Devices. The Design Project Manager will play a critical role managing the implementation of all ad design executed by Courageous for traditional digital advertising and programmatic campaigns. This is a highly detail-oriented role that collaborates with many departments and teams and is a key player for Courageous to grow in this space. This role reports into the Design Producer.

The Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Work interdepartmentally with Courageous Operations, Production and Design & Development teams, as well as Digital Account Services, Digital Ad Product and Programmatic teams
• Manage and review all incoming requests to Courageous; review all specs and client-provided assets for development; create and communicate timelines for delivery; scope for design, video animation and development needs for digital advertising and programmatic campaigns
• Attend all Design internal/external kickoff calls (KOCs) for digital advertising and programmatic campaigns
• Partner with development team to QA and review client work for accuracy and technical specifications
• Identify and mitigate roadblocks to enable Designers and Developers to work productively toward project goals
• Ensure projects move forward efficiently by coordinating and attending project reviews and check-ins; make changes to project plans/priorities and manage downstream impacts to other project timelines and resource capacity; provide periodic status reports to all internal stakeholders
• Maintain revenue and ad unit tracking documentation for digital advertising and programmatic campaigns
• Discuss process improvements and pain points regularly with Ad Operations, Courageous Operations, Design Producer, and Director of Design and Development; support the ongoing improvement of web development and design team workflows and processes
• Collaborate with Design Producer to maintain documentation and Trello dashboards that allow for quick and efficient understanding of resource capacity and project status
• Partner with Design Producer and Digital Ad Product team for integrating Design and Development resources for special initiatives and new product launches, revamps, R&D, QA, etc.; assist in hiring freelance and temp staffing as needed
• Participate in daily Design Team meetings to ensure team understands the status of all active projects
• Track overall success and progress of each design project for digital advertising and programmatic campaigns
• Support the Design Producer as needed on branded content campaigns (e.g. integrate design-related productions schedules within the broader holistic schedule, collaborate with Line Producers on video-led projects to ensure seamless integration of design elements, etc.), marketing communications and other special initiatives. Note that the Design Project Manager's work is focused on traditional digital advertising and programmatic campaigns (70%+).

• Deliver daily with a client-focused attitude and a confident, enthusiastic, diplomatic approach – providing valuable solutions for brand clients, complex programs and high-profile WarnerMedia initiatives.

Requirements:
• 5+ years minimum of design/digital production and/or project management experience within an agency or in-house creative department at a brand or publisher
• Demonstrated understanding of digital ad products and web development
• Highly organized with demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects on time and within budget
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, extreme attention to detail, and ability to work with limited direction.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced, high-productivity environment with a can-do approach and make quick decisions while simultaneously supervising multiple productions
• Experience with BaseCamp, AirTable, TeamGantt a plus
• BFA/BS or similar degree
