The Job

Position works within a team that provide timely hands-on support 7 x 24 to all News Networks and control rooms covers duties of Associate plus persons eligible for this position must be very familiar with the network and support infrastructure of our broadcast and computing environment, performing both remote and on-site problem analysis and resolution. Additional responsibilities include participation in assessing, improving, and documenting workflow processes. This position operates in a highly independent fashion, requiring candidates to operate with little supervision. Practical solutions must be found and implemented immediately in order to keep clients working. Requires working shifts and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Oversee and support the day to day Data and Network connectivity activities for CNN Western Region . Proactively plan, organize, monitor and identify existing problem or new requirements from the responsible areas and make recommendation to the team manager s for further action.
* Design, Plan, Maintain and Support data network services: this includes providing local, and wide area network connectivity, internet connectivity, troubleshooting, capacity and disaster-recovery planning in order to ensure that there is always data connectivity for the users. Work with Atlanta network services to ensure that corporate standards are followed.
* Design, Plan, Maintain and Support Western Region server farm and VM servers, troubleshooting and disaster-recovery planning, and working with vendors to get the best configuration without sacrificing service.
* Security Management: firewall, IPS, IDS, monitoring systems and network security to protect the Warner Media systems and network from internal and external users. Work with the CSO security group in Atlanta, as well as with the user community to ensure that we are not compromised and to ensure that corporate standards are followed.
* Provide support for software/hardware problem determination, co-coordinating with suppliers where necessary, ensuring that all problems are avoided or resolved. Also ensure that all changes are planned, documented, implemented and tested, with special emphasis on the reliability, efficiency and security of the production systems
* Perform daily administration and operational work related to the data connectivity for internal staff vendor and external customer and developer. This includes VOIP, CNN support, Global Protect, E-work, VPN access … etc
* Maintain Adobe Premier Edit systems for the Western Region. Perform technology tasks and projects as assigned by the team manager

The Must Haves
* Experience in design and deployment of large scale data and voice network environments, hands on experience in using Cisco/Juniper/Avaya in a data centre environment
* Proficient knowledge in configuration of network core switches, routers, firewall, load balancers, data connectivity including design, configuration and implementation, and disaster recovery methodologies and best practices
* Knowledge in Network switching / routing technologies, Qos, network monitoring tools
* Good communication and inter-personal skill

The Nice to Haves
* Hands on experience of WAN/LAN design and implementation on complex connectivity projects
* Experience in Microsoft Windows Server family as well as Red Hat Linux server operations and different operating system other than windows, e.g. Unix and Mac
* Familiar with project management and ITIL process
* Familiar with broadcasting systems and technologies
