Job Description
At the heart of our UK film and TV operations sits Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden (WBSL), a purpose built, state-of-the-art studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200 acre secure site has a quarter of a million square feet of stage space, back-lot tank, one of the largest heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and an 150 acre back-lot. WBSL accommodate and support productions for WBPL (WBD features division), WBTV and HBO supporting 8-10 productions per year.

Crew HQ

WBD has developed an innovative approach to UK workforce development in Film & TV production. Designed to support existing crew, create career pathways for people of all backgrounds, and foster the next generation of talent, CrewHQ is an on-site training centre with a dedicated team delivering below-the-line skills activity for WBD feature films and high end TV across the UK.

The mission is to develop talent, retain crew and create a diverse, skilled workforce using our studio facility, support services and WBD productions to deliver a unique sustainable pathway.

Your New Role...

Lead strategy, programme delivery, and day-to-day management of CrewHQ, our new flagship training and education centre launching soon.

This involves centralising the UK production related skills and training requirements for WBD Film and high end TV both at Leavesden and across UK. The CrewHQ Director will also be responsible for liaising with production divisions, industry partners, Government bodies as well as stakeholders across WBD to maximize benefits of the centre.

The post is based at WB Studios Leavesden, five days a week and may involve regional and local travel.

Your Role Accountabilities...
• Establish and maintain relationships with key CrewHQ stakeholders including, Heads of Production Divisions, Production Executives, WBSL, Corporate Social Responsibility, Government Affairs, HR, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion teams
• Partner with Warner Bros. Pictures Ltd. in overseeing CrewHQ
• Work with UK-based WBD film and high-end television productions to assess their training needs, review areas of opportunity and agree a training delivery programme per show.
• Work with industry and non-profit partners, for example BFI, London Screen Academy, RADA, NFTS and others to maintain existing relationships and develop joint programmes.
• Develop the strategy and oversee ''WBD Action'' in the UK, our entry-level skills development scheme for film and high-end TV production – liaise with CSR colleagues managing the programme in other markets worldwide.
• Work with education partners to help raise awareness of the breadth of roles that exist within the screen industry and the pathways and skillsets required to progress.
• Develop and maintain CrewHQ strategy, including setting and communicating clear KPIs and delivery plans
• Manage and maintain the budget for CrewHQ
• Partner with WBD Comms to develop case studies, videos, impact reports etc. to showcase CrewHQ and our commitment to skills training internally and externally .
• Produce regular reporting to CrewHQ council and key stakeholders as required.
• Ensure all WBD compliance documentation is received and updated as required.
• Support and manage the Crew HQ staff and hire according to activity levels
• Manage consultants, fixed term contracts and temporary labour
• Create a vision for the future of Crew HQ in order to have a meaningful impact on the development of the UK crew base.
• Ability to travel for short periods on Location as needed

Qualifications & Experience...
• An understanding of the production process within the UK film and HETV
• Experience of working in an educational setting and / or training and skills environment
• Experience of working in a multi disciplinary / multi stakeholder environment
• Proven ability to design training materials and workshops
• Excellent delivery, facilitation and communication skills
• Strong relationships and reputation within the UK screen sector
• Proven ability to manage a team; coaching and mediation experience desired but not essential
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work; willing to learn and get involved with duties outside of day to day job description
• Meticulous attention to detail including proofing
• Professional, diplomatic, confident with good social skills to be able to deal with all levels of staff;
