Job Description
Job Summary

Warner Bros Discovery is looking for top engineering talent whose technical chops and problem-solving skills are matched only by their passion for building innovative software. This position is within Media Technology and Operations, in a team that works on automating workflows for operations in and around content flows and media systems. Our goal is to simplify solutions for tough problems and automate manual tasks, while innovating and iterating to drive down costs and speed time to market. We come together as a team to build many customer-driven initiatives and go beyond a single product or service.

We are hiring a Technical Product Manager to join our team. The preferred candidate has a background in Media and Technology and working with operational stakeholders to find ideal solutions related to media and workflow business problems. They have the ability to dig into the details, but not lose sight of strategic company goals. The TPM is a technical leader that people turn to when they need something new or an inefficiency is identified. These stakeholders need someone who can maintain empathy and gain a deep understanding of the entire objective and be able to define that to a technical team for a holistic approach to the business problem.

Responsibilities

1. You understand a broad range of media workflows and understand how to apply your knowledge to new or novel scenarios, while keeping an open mind to creative technology solutions.

2. You work with key stakeholders to deliver a high-quality product, ensuring that what your teams build meet the expectations of your customers and solve the issues identified, or are on a roadmap to do so in an MVP model.

3. Your written and verbal communication skills can distill key points out of complex workflow or technical information to share with non-technical stakeholders, adapting your language and style of communication depending on the audience. You communicate through data, dates and facts; using emotion and empathy to collaborate with colleagues and business partners.

4. You will be the first point of contact for a development organization and be able to dig into high level requests to bring detail and context to a management team to help prioritize, delegate, and design a solution.

5. You have demonstrated the capacity to make decisions for more than one functional area showing that your judgment is broad based and logical, not technology or product specific.

Requirements
• 5+ years in a business analysis, support, or technical analysis role directly related to media workflows, MAMs, Post, or media supply chain.
• Experience working with development teams and being the interface to the customer/clients to relate status, solution, or internal escalation.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on expertise in disparate media technologies. At least high level understanding of transcoders, post environments, MAMs, DAMs, and media manufacturing workflows.
• Knowledge of agile development practices and the ability to help build an intake pipeline for multiple development teams.
• Experience in working closely with development teams to explain process, problem, or context to achieve the best outcome
• Willingness to be an escalation point for problem solving, escalation management, and basic troubleshooting before hand off to a technical team.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
