The Media Supply Chain Engineering team builds the applications and services that power Warner Bros Discovery's content supply chain .
Our applications cover the entire breadth of the media supply chain, from idea to distribution . We have a robust global community of thousands of internal Warner Bros Discovery users who rely on our apps every day to get television produced, on the air, and onto Max.
As the Staff Software Engineer, you will assume a technical leadership role on the team and work with Product and other Architects and Engineers across geography and teams of various
other supply chain products to deliver on new product features, initiatives and integration . With your deep technical knowledge, you will lead conversations for planning, development and offer expert recommendations for strategies, integration and best practices to help support delivery of in-house product solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Translate functional specifications into logical, component-based technical designs
• Key technical contributor to the design and implementation of core software components of MSC platform
• Take complete ownership and accountability of feature requirements from conception till delivery and continue to manage, sustain and
optimize the system
• Collaborate with the product, business, design and engineering functions to be on top of your team's deliverables & milestones
• Timely delivery of highly reliable and scalable engineering architecture, and high quality, maintainable and operationally excellent code for your team
• Serves as the functional lead, possesses deep knowledge of core systems,
• Lead design discussions and code reviews
What to Bring :
• 9 - 13 years of experience developing scalable software using microservices
• Experience in developing solutions in Java with Spring Boot framework and contemporary JavaScript frameworks ( e.g. Angular/ NodeJs ).
• Experience in backend and frontend software development, building micro services, event driven architectures/solutions.
• Experience in private and public API design and cross-service integrations.
• Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g., unit testing, design patterns, building maintainable code, performance)
• Familiarity with a range of database technologies, encompassing both SQL and NoSQL options.
• Usage and deep understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services
• Experience building,
operating , and owning services. Implementing operational excellence mechanisms including alerting, metrics, and logging using Prometheus, CloudWatch, Kibana, PagerDuty
• Ability to work with minimal instructions on day-to-day work, able to consume and self-start with general instructions on new assignments. Participates in an inclusive and supportive engineering culture.
