Global Quality Assurance (GQA) promotes a shift-left approach and provides standardized process and tools to enhance the quality of applications for various WBD brands in News, Sports, and Entertainment verticals. We work closely with our brand partners and act as a center of expertise, best practice, and continuous improvement in the field of quality engineering. Quality is owned by the entire team. GQA Engineers are the frontline owners of the quality processes, including the process of development, testing, and delivery.
As a Staff Software Engineer in Test in the GQA, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality using efficient and reliable test automation. The ideal candidate has built multiple stable, scalable, and reliable automated suites that have been running successfully in production environments and provide extensive quality benefits. Additionally, we are looking for a QE leader who cares about the user experience and has a passion for quality, learning, and collaboration.

Responsibilities
• Develop automated tests and tooling with an aim to validate software quality against product requirements and industry standards using automation
• Contribute to our overall test strategy and provide technical leadership and guidance.
• Contribute to design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks, tools, and strategies for comprehensive test coverage.
• Lead project(s) and phases of testing cycles from planning, test development, and execution through deployment, ensuring the application meets quality standards.
• Stay updated on the latest testing methodologies, tools, and industry best practices to continuously improve our testing process.
• Identify and contribute to resolution of complex technical challenges related to software testing, including diagnosing and debugging intricate issues.
• Collaborate with other Staff engineers and leads in your project to ensure a cohesive test approach and design for your product
• Work across multiple teams to drive technical solutions and influence decisions and outcomes.
• Guide the day-to-day work of other engineers. Coach and mentor up to Sr Software Engineer in Test level and provide input to leadership on development needs and growth opportunities for team members. Models an inclusive and supportive engineering culture.

Skill and Experience
• 7+ years of relevant experience. Has proven ability to support quality product releases by orchestrating automation coverage as appropriate.
• Carry very deep knowledge about the whole technology stack of the system and empower quality SMEs
• Strong experience with a variety of test automation frameworks.
• Strong experience in one or more programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, etc.
• Experience with debugging tools and CI/CD process.
• Uses conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and implications. Exercises independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
• Strong knowledge and experience in multiple test types including unit, functional, integration, API, load and performance tests.
• Strong understanding of digital product development for web, mobile, OTT, and backend infrastructure.
• Fluent in English at an intermediate/advanced level. Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Working experience with leading day-to-day activities for a team.
• Experience with common software/testing tools such as Github, Jenkins, Charles Proxy, Postman, BrowserStack, etc.
• Experience in the media/entertainment space is a plus
