Sr Engineer, Virtual Application Delivery

Job Description

At WBD, we leverage Omnissa VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) & Citrix (CVAD and related technologies) to provide internal users and third parties access to business-critical tools.
A successful applicant will actively engage in reshaping, refactoring and providing engineering support of all Omnissa VDI and Citrix systems at WBD.
Increasing adoption of cloud for management and remote access purposes.
Migrate applications off obsolete OSes and domains to new instances.
Provide continual review of the platform with a view to design and implement improvements.
Extend Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to further automate tasks.
Mentor/guide Operations Center and other applicable staff on supporting the technologies managed by the team.
% Time Spent on The Daily
• Dealing with break/fix incidents as raised through internal support tools - 10%
• Adding, updating and deploying applications hosted in the VDI and Citrix platform - 25%
• Enhancing the platform - 35%
• As and when required joining incident, team, project and departmental meetings - 20%
• Writing and updating documentation plus support plans - 10%
Essentials:
• 5+ years' experience supporting CVAD and (Omnissa) VDI including Windows OSes
• 5+ years' performing technical user support in a business environment
• 5+ years' experience supporting Windows based applications
• 3+ years supporting Windows OS devices running on in ESXi and/or cloud. Preferred cloud vendor experience is AWS
• Basic understanding of networking, TCP/IP etc.
• Able to converse in and write English
Nice to haves:
• Familiarity with automation tool Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform including EDA and Kafka
• Familiar with Red Hat Openshift on AWS
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux administrative experience
• Scripting experience with YAML and PowerShell
• Familiar with database technology such as Oracle and SQL Server (Should total 100%)
