Your New Role
Responsible for day-to-day execution of general accounting activities, record-to-report processes and operating activities handled by the Service Delivery Center (SDC) for WB Technology (WBT) and Studio Operations. Duties to include general ledger stewardship, month end closing and reporting, consolidation of actual results and preparation and review of all financial statements, by-title reporting, footnotes and disclosures. Duties also include working with the SDC provider (Capgemini), WBT/Studio Operations Business Unit Finance, and Consolidated Financial Reporting (CFR) in support of the closing process. This Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Manager, Studio Controllership.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Analyze & approve actual results for the quarter/month end closing process:
• Use discretion in managing a tight close calendar to ensure all work is correct and on time; prioritize daily close checklist tasks to be performed by the BPO, ensure they are done timely and immediately identify and resolve issues or delays.
• Apply judgment, expertise, and review of critical journal entries, decide balance sheet classifications, determine contingent liability assessment/disclosure and asset impairment testing. Approve as deemed necessary.
• Identify, investigate and resolve irregular items and prepare adjusting journal entries as required.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting rules to properly interpret and determine applicable accounting treatment.
• Review financial statements for Controllership/CFR (BS, P&L, Cash Flow, By Title) and management reports requested by the Business Unit Finance team.
• Prepare and review balance sheet flux, supplemental schedules, footnotes, and related party disclosures.
• Review financial statements for Controllership/CFR and management reports requested by the Business Unit Finance team.
• General ledger maintenance and stewardship:
• Guarantee completeness and accuracy of GL activity; review and analyze trial balance to determine if adjustments are necessary.
• Approve inter-company activity reconciliations and provide recommendations to ensure any discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
• Prepare Balance Sheet review, including account analysis and supporting documentation. Participate in formal presentation with VP, SVP and Business Unit Finance.
• Review/ensure all BPO/Controllership owned GL account reconciliations are performed and are accurate & complete. Record adjustments where deemed necessary.
• Other closing related activities: (15%)
• Strive to maintain and continuously improve quality of customer service to retained finance organizations.
• Research US GAAP as it relates to significant matters and provide accounting guidance to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
• Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley cycle documentation, audit testing, identify areas of control risk and design and recommend mitigating control procedures.
• Support internal requests from CFR, Tax and Participations and external requests from Auditors.
• Related Party Reporting and Governmental Surveys
• Act as liaison for the Studios Controllership in connection with Business Unit Finance, Financial Territory organizations, and various WB Corporate departments (CFR, FPP, Tax, MIS, Treasury, Legal, Participations).
• Seek out, identify, and recommend process improvements and standardizations across areas of responsibilities to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness. This includes other special projects such as UAT Testing, Ad hoc projects, etc.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 3+ years previous work experience in an accounting environment required.
• Public and/or private accounting experience preferred
• Financial closing, consolidations, reporting and planning
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting required.
• CPA/MBA preferred
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP)
• Must have experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle
• PC Skills: Knowledge of MS Word and Excel or Access required
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills.
• Must be a critical thinker who can provide solutions with minimal guidance
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons on all levels, in person and on the telephone
• Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions
• Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively
• Must have the ability to multi-task and work well under time constraints
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. $62,797.00 - $116,624.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
