Job Description
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our CMS team, where you will develop and enhance features to streamline content creation and delivery for our editorial teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a dynamic platform that empowers journalists to tell stories that matter. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain scalable solutions, contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, Vue (or other front-end frameworks and libraries) Node.js, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and deliver user-focused solutions.
• Optimize and maintain CMS platforms, including headless content systems and dynamic site-rendering architectures.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes to ensure reliable and efficient deployments.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality, readable code that aligns with best practices.
• Lead and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, such as lunch-and-learns, pair programming, or technical documentation.
• Explore and integrate AI-driven solutions to enhance development workflows and improve the CMS platform.
• Write architecture documents for existing systems and proposed enhancements.
• Foster an inclusive, test-and-learn engineering culture, mentoring peers and leveraging team expertise.
Qualifications & Experience…
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Vue, and Node.js
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Python is not required but nice to have
• Knowledge of CMS platforms, headless content systems, or dynamic site-rendering architectures.
