Meet Our Team:

The Continuous Planning and Execution & Tools team serves WBD Product, Program and Engineering teams by helping to drive process alignment and Jira standardization across the organization ensuring there is a single source of truth for tracking, measuring and reporting progress and status on small-scale and large-scale initiatives. The team also closely partners with the CPMO team to drive processes across the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

We are hiring a Software Development Engineer to join our direct-to-consumer team. A successful candidate will have wide ranging experience in media streaming and related areas.

They will always champion for consumer experience when it comes to planning and execution, allowing our Engineering, Product and Program teams to have a single source of truth to plan and execute roadmap activities.

This engineer will collaborate with product teams, product management, tech and program teams to build and maintain a scalable Jira platform. This engineer will have strong attention to detail and understand & follow agile methods; adapt to dynamic & changing environments and communicate with simplicity & in a timely manner. You will work cross-functionally with Product Managers and Engineers to execute against the roadmap to meet and exceed goals.

An ideal candidate will be a creative thinker, result-driven and passionate about partnering with cross functional teams to ensure successful planning and execution experiences. This person will advocate for data-driven decision making, have an insatiable curiosity, love to invent and innovate to solve difficult problems, and obsess about their customers/stakeholders. The candidate will have a strong point of view but remain open-minded should evidence lead elsewhere.
• Play a leading role to design and develop major functional changes to the Atlassian workspace, involving yourself and other engineers. You make good decisions when to build new and when to leverage and extend existing.
• Provide guidance on design, coding, and operational best practices, and have a track-record of applying these best practices to software that you have worked on. You can propose and create best practices proactively where none exist.
• Make high impact decisions driving how and what software gets built. Your decisions are often right, and you are persuasive in delivering your suggestions and ideas to your team.
• Mentor junior engineers, overseeing their designs, code quality, and integration into a team. Your success is judged as much on your own productivity as on the positive impact you have on engineers around you.
• Provide the Engineering, Product and Program a cohesive view of all planned work including dependencies across multi teams and platforms

What to Bring:
• Total 13 - 16year of work experience with minimum of 8+ years developing Atlassian tools.
• Expert in developing Atlassian tools.
• Proven experience embracing open source or native platform capabilities in developing solutions that delight customers
• Drive ''order of magnitude'' improvements in ambiguous situations and in a fast paced and matrixed organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Can effectively communicate vision and plan with the audience.
• Experience in working across product, engineering, and analytics teams to evaluate new ideas, discuss technical concepts, create scalable designs, implement new models, and make tradeoffs to remove roadblocks.
• Understanding of PDLC concepts and how the suite of Atlassian products (primarily Jira and Confluence) function with the software delivery pipeline.
• Strong experience with Jira administration, system architecture, and operations.
• Deep knowledge of Jira schema: advanced JQL, agile boards & dashboards, projects, issues, screens, fields, workflows, security/permissions, notifications, etc.
• Experience gathering requirements from stakeholders and adapting sometimes vague and ambiguous requests into the technical workings of the toolset.
• Being friendly, responsive, and helpful in supporting Jira users daily on a wide range of topics from simple to complex.
• A focus on balancing the unique requirements of stakeholders with the need to maintain Jira organization and standardization.
• Willingness and ability to challenge client assumptions in order to deliver the best solution for their needs.
• Experience with Atlassian & agile reporting methodologies and best practices.
• Proficiency with Atlassian data structures & analytics to provide insights users need to make informed decisions.
• Familiarity with Jira reporting tools such as eazyBI, Structure, or Atlassian Analytics.
• Experience using Automation for Jira, the Jira API and writing scripts (Python, Groovy, etc.) for use with automation and reporting.
• Passion for solving complex technical problems.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Assist with fielding requests for Jira/Confluence/eazyBI, Structure support from stakeholders.
