Job Description
CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) is looking for a highly motivated, analytical and media savvy individual for Director of Social – Commercial across the predominantly News but also ENTS, Sports, and Influencer verticals at WBD.
The Social Amplification team is a wholly owned social agency within CNNIC that handles major advertiser-sponsored campaigns across CNN International and other sports and ents brands within WBD. The ideal candidate has client-facing sales experience, experience running paid social and emerging platforms media campaigns, and a background in strategic operations built to maximize growth and innovation.
What part will you play?
Responsibilities:
• Lead the social strategy and monetization and provide broad oversight as well as detailed guidance and support as needed.
• Develop and standardize business operations and safeguard best practices are adhered to throughout the team.
• Ensure Social Monetization team upholds a high standard of client service through data-driven storytelling and actionable performance insights.
• Work hand in hand with our global branded content studio feeding insights to create content our audiences engage with and provide insight to our clients
• Grow and mentor young talent on paid social activation, performance analysis, industry trend reporting, and client relations; serve as a resource for first-time managers and first-time client-direct professionals.
• Act as a strategic stakeholder to Sales, Marketing Solutions, Editorial, and senior leadership to ideate on unique client opportunities and develop social/off-platform first packages to drive incremental results and revenue.
• Develop vertical-specific thought leadership to inform client recommendations and shape strategic initiatives.
• Identify and explore new platforms, products, and industry trends to keep up to date and on the cutting edge of the consistently evolving social /off-platform ecosystem.
• In conjunction with broader Social Amplification team, ensure new products meet marketplace demand and align with overall network / vertical strategy.
• Be an active leader in overall operations across the broader digital operations and strategy team
What do we require from you?
Qualifications:
• 6+ years' experience working in social media, either on the agency, publisher or brand side with deep understanding of major social media platforms
• 3+ years' experience managing a team
• Experience navigating a large, matrixed organization; skilled in evaluating and rethinking pre-established processes and procedures
• Proficiency planning, executing, and managing campaigns using Facebook Ads Manager & Power Editor, Google, Snapchat, TikTok, and Twitter Ads etc
• Extensive knowledge of paid social landscape, including optimization techniques and strategies, bidding models, tracking techniques, targeting options, KPIs, and ad units across variety of social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, etc.)
• Working knowledge of one or more social analytics & insights tools (Sprinklr, Canvs, Shareablee, etc)
• Exceptional analytic, critical thinking, and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate deep learnings into actionable recommendations
• Familiarity creating reports and dashboards; utilizing all relevant data to inform decisions across internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal, written, and overall communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail. Excellent project management skills and highly organized.
