HBO Max originally launched in the United States in May 2020 and introduced a lower priced, advertising-supported tier in June 2021. It rolled out globally across Latin America and the Caribbean in 2021, followed by its first European launches in the Nordics and Spain later that year. In May 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery introduced Max, an enhanced streaming platform, in the US HBO Max is currently available in 46 countries and there are plans for the continued global expansion of Max in 2024.
The Job
This role will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications that meet the needs of the organization and its clients within a team environment. This role will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable. They will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to junior developers, ensuring that development best practices are followed, and that code is developed to the highest standards.
The Daily
• Design and develop software applications that meets the needs of the organization and clients
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable
• Identify opportunities to improve the processes and technologies of the work team
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings to analyse and estimate projects.
• Look for new opportunities that allow to provide innovative software solutions to the business
The Essentials
• Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Systems, Engineering or related careers.
• Years of experience: 5+ years occupying similar roles.
• Fluent in English at an intermediate/advanced level
• Expertise in complex problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Experience and deep understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Expertise in implementing scalable, distributed and highly available systems on AWS using ECS, EKS, EC2 and Serverless technology (Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS)
• Expertise in Messaging Frameworks (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, SNS, SQS, Kafka)
• Experience in​ ​DevOps (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Travis for CI/CD)
• Proficient in Python, Java with 5+ years of total experience
• Experience building event driven architecture
• Experience working and delivering in an Agile Scrum environment
• ​ ​ Broad knowledge and experience in ​ ​ proficient understanding of relational and document databases specifically MONGODB, PostgreSQL ​
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Energetic, shows passion and is vested to the project
Desirable
• General knowledge of ​ ​ or p revious work experience and / or participation in projects related to the media industry
