Your New Role…

The primary responsibility of this role as part of the Record to Report Accounting (RTR) team based in Warsaw is to deliver quality accounting services for Warner Bros. Discovery entities. Key aspects of this role are related to monthly processes and controls related to rent, asset retirement obligations, and amortization of prepaid occupancy expenses. Results of the individual work must result in accurate and timely month end close and financial information for key stakeholders within Organization. Reporting into RTR Manager to support accounting by acting as one team.

RTR team is a part of EMEA Accounting Controllership Team that is fully responsible for multiple countries from the Networks segment in the region, including UK, Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and more.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Proactively leading and/or performing the period-end closing and operational activities
• Day to day accounting and support for the international equipment & real estate lease portfolio
• Analyze lease contracts to correctly classify leases as per accounting standards. Determine appropriate discount rates and perform present value calculations for lease liabilities.
• Utilize specialized lease accounting software and tools to streamline lease accounting processes and maintain accurate records.
• Reconcile lease liability balances with lease payment schedules and ensure accuracy in financial statements and disclosures
• Performing periodic Account Reconciliations ensuring completeness and quality of Balance Sheet for selected EMEA entities and group of accounts e.g. Accruals, Prepayments, Payroll, Lease and Fixed Assets
• Assisting with internal and external financial and compliance Audits, including SOX
• Ad hoc analysis of various types of financial information as requested by Manager
• Work closely with other departments, such as real estate, legal, and procurement, to facilitate effective lease management

Qualifications & Experience…
• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance and at least 2-4 years
of accounting experience in international environment
• Strong practical and theoretical accounting knowledge
• Very good written and spoken English is a must
• Proficient and experienced in MS Office applications, Excel in particular is a must
• Experience with enterprise information systems, (SAP) a strong plus and preferred
• High Integrity team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work well with others and promote positive working relationships across the organization
• Motivated by challenging, high-energy, flexible environment. Ability to work under conditions of pressure and adjust to urgent and changing situations
