Job Description
The primary purpose of the role is the leadership of ITVP Controllership function across 15 European (including UK) and APAC territories and 66 legal entities. The role focusses on the ensuring a adequate and appropriate control environment for the ITVP group, including production finance, monthly and quarterly closes in line with US GAAP and WBD policy, and the completion of local audits and filing requirements.
The role is also a partner to the ITVP business and includlaes as key stakeholders the ITVP CFO, VP FP&A, VP Business Ops and VP P&C, providing accounting and controls guidance, and other insights as required.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Leadership and management of ITVP Controllership team including direction and oversight of work and resources, management and development of 4 direct reports and 14 indirect reports.
• Partner ITVP CFO, FP&A, Business Operations, P&C; attendance at weekly Operations meetings and monthly Corporate Support meetings.
• Support and escalation point to key stakeholders in the business including 11 local Business Directors responsible for local production entities, distributions sales team and IP management team.
• Oversight and ownership of all emerging accounting issues including unusual / new production contract terms, production funding and incentives and production cost sharing arrangements
• Responsibility for ITVP US GAAP period-end close and reporting in line with WBD policies and procedures. Monthly and quarterly review of ITVP financial results, financial positions, transactions and processes (including productions) to ensure appropriate capture and presentation of financial information for US GAAP close.
• Monthly review and approval of ITVP management P&L, reporting hierarchy P&L and BS and other reporting requirements required by group policy and instructions. Ownership and approval of quarterly US GAAP reporting requirements.
• Provide quarterly BS flux commentary for EMEA Studios BS Flux reporting.
• Ownership of ITVP SOX controls including quarterly confirmation of adequacy and performance.
• Perform role of UK Senior Accounting Officer for local tax regulations.
• Overall responsibility BS reconciliations by local teams, monthly review of key BS reconciliations and performance of WBD BS reconciliation quality reviews.
• Ownership and oversight of all local audits and filing requirements ensuring timely completion in line with local requirements.
• Ownership of ITVP control environment including but not limited to production finance processes, production accounting systems, opex finance processes and ITVP SAP.
• Member of production system Control Change Board providing oversight and approval for all changes to production systems and related processes.
• Point of contact for global functions including Controllership Poland, Treasury, Global Real Estate, accounting teams including fixed assets and leasing, Direct Tax, Indirect Tax.
• Oversight and leadership of distribution revenues and related intra-ITVP, intercompany and third-party participations. Ownership of UK third-party participation statementing and payments.
Qualifications & Experience…
• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent international, audit practice background with 10 years + post-qualified and relevant industry experience preferred.
• Leadership experience and proven ability to work as an advisor and business partner to senior leadership.
• Experience in US GAAP, production processes and systems, SOX control requirements, audit processes (preferably across multiple European jurisdiction), production funding and incentives and transfer pricing arrangements are highly beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability quickly to grasp the ''big picture'' and exhibit judgment in drawing conclusions and solving problems.
• Advanced Excel skills required. Mid-level for all other Microsoft applications required. Ability to learn/utilize various systems and applications.
• SAP or another leading ERP experience a plus. Attention to detail and able to deliver to tight deadlines
• Experience of working in a corporate environment undergoing significant change or growth of the underlying business.
• Proven team player with strong leadership characteristics and potential to lead. Proactive in driving and affecting change/transition, with commitment to employee development, motivation and training; able to manage team members with an international reach.
• Thorough knowledge of financial statement preparation, reporting and analysis processes, with hands on experience of underlying processes. Exposure to international accounting and ideally a thorough knowledge and experience of US GAAP applicable to revenue recognition.
• Strong but diplomatic character, with good organizational skills and ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously, working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
