Job Description
Your New Role...

The position exists to ensure that a company's fixed assets are accurately accounted for, which helps the company make informed financial decisions and maintain compliance with regulations.
The senior accountant for fixed assets is responsible for maintaining and accounting for WBD's long-term physical assets such as property, equipment, building and equipment as well as capitalizing on other costs such as labor costs for internally developed software/capitalized software. This individual ensures that these assets are properly recorded and reported in the financial statements, and in compliance with accounting standards and laws. This individual also monitors the depreciation of these assets and can make some adjustments as necessary. This role will ensure all deliverables are completed timely, accurately.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Review, analyze and process all capital asset disposals and capital asset transfer requests
• Maintain and close Asset Management
• Maintain open communication with project managers regarding the status of projects.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of fixed asset subledger to General Ledger balances for WBD segments
• Responsible for ensuring proper internal controls are in place and all transactions are recorded timely and accurately in accordance with GAAP and established SOX requirements and procedures
• Prepare and record system depreciation, capitalized labor, and reclassification and adjustment journal entries as needed
• Provide support and training to other departments on fixed assets policies and procedures
• Analyze operational variances between current month and prior month
• Continuously monitor and recommend improvements to fixed assets processes and procedures
• Track and capitalize all expenditures such as labor costs for projects under construction

Qualifications & Experience...
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent
• 2 years accounting/audit experience
• Experience in working with all levels of management including project managers
• Experience preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations
• Experience with monthly and quarterly financial reporting and variance analysis

Preferred
• Master's degree and/or CPA
• 2+ years Fixed Asset project accounting
• Previous knowledge and experience with ERP System (PeopleSoft and SAP)
• Good knowledge of asset classification and experience planning and executing audits
• Strong understanding of general ledger and subledger
